Omega was on Jericho's pod yesterday, of course a great listen. They really dissect the match and give some great insight into the psychology and also how much of a pain in the ass it is to try and set up spots in the Tokyo Dome.

Also learned that Callis used to wrestle with Omega's uncle and Don was the first one to give Kenny a push and put him in some single's matches for the Canadian promotion he booked back in the early 90's. Pretty fuckin cool.

 

Agreed. Great listen. And Don was on the podcast last week and said that he didn't even know that Kenny was The Golden Sheik's nephew until years later when Kenny asked him to do the eulogy at his funeral. Nice to know that Kenny got his spot on his own merit/talent.

 

I'm gonna gush real hard on Kenny right now but he is the top ambassador for pro wrestling. How he carries himself, his passion, his intellect, sense of humor, just god damn man, the dude is the epitome of a man with integrity.

So Jericho is the oldest person to receive 5 stars in a singles match at 47. Giant Baba received one at age 56 in a 6 man tag. Guess I'm watching this match.

 

I feel like Suzuki may end up sneaking a 5 star match out at his age before he calls it quits

The great part is that DDP Yoga legitimately is the reason he could work like that. DDP is changin the world ya'll.

 

And much like the New Day, he can do it without being some traditional wrestling caricature. Pop culture and video game references mixed in with awesome in-ring action.
