Lot of insight on Sam Mewis’ injury on this episode of Snacks. Sounds like she still has a ways to go before a potential return.

Also hope the powers that be at Snapdragon will start showing the Wave and WoSo in general the respect they deserve. That pitch was unacceptable the last few games. Brought back nightmares of 2016 NWSL standards

They're the second tenant. The first is San Diego State football. It's only going to get worse once the mens team goes in.

Yup. Similar to LA, the problem is that men’s teams refuse to play on the pitch the day after any game. But women’s teams aren’t given that same respect. Inexcusable to have football yard lines and other team logos still visible on the field for a semi-final. If they wouldn’t do it to a men’s team, they shouldn’t do it to the Wave

Don't know who should have flipped the bill for that. The league or the stadium. Either way, it was frustrating to see. Not as bad in person for the final though. At least they get to play on real grass.

Gotham going worst to first to beat team on paper to (likely) most disappointing team. Wild ride for sure.

    Worst team in 2022
    Won the Championship in 2023

They’ve now bolstered their roster to the point that if they don’t win the Shield and Championship it’s a big disappointment.

They’ll be fun to watch no matter what. All I care about at this point

Ugh that sucks so much. Bought a ticket a few days ago to see her play on the 24th at Stamford Bridge and now this happens. Truly wishing her the best for recovery.

Someone’s gotta start doing research on ACL tears in women. The last 2 or 3 years have been nuts

Yeah, that Kerr news absolutely blows. I'm from the same city as her and played against her growing up. It's gut-wrenching to see her second major tournament in the space of a year effectively destroyed by injury.

The other thing they’ve started to realize is that having women playing in footwear designed for men is NOT a good idea. What a concept !

This is such a bummer. Glad she is going to stayed involved with the sport though.

Aww man. Before her knee injury, she was considered the best in the world at the time. Definitely noticed her absence, but glad she gets to continue on in coverage.

Mal Swanson, Savannah DeMelo, and Giselle Thompson are included for training

Aside from Swanson, the other two training players are midfielder Savannah DeMelo, who started two games at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and defender Gisele Thompson, a U.S. Under-20 international and recent Angel City FC signing who is the younger sister of 2023 World Cup team member Alyssa Thompson. This is the first full USWNT call-up for the younger Thompson who played in the 2022 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
