Vlatko just straight up didn’t have another strategy though. There was a report that said he pretty much told Alex to play like Catarina Macario and then didn’t adjust after it was confirmed Cat wasn’t going to be able to make it back for the WC until the game against Sweden.

 

Yeah nothing about his NWSL coaching gave anyone reason to believe this would’ve been such a massive failure

Really poor stuff

 

I know “Barca DNA” is a thing said a lot, but it’s wild to see it carrying over into the women’s game so heavily. You can tell seven of these players play weekly together.

 

Was saying exactly this. Spain, and particularly Barca’s, DNA carrying over between men and women’s football is kind of crazy

 

Legit feels like you could drop five outfield players from each squad and there’d be no drop off in formation/understanding
