So the NWSL is wild as fuck and at midnight it gets reported that the reigning NWSL champions, WNY Flash, are going to be relocating from Rochester to Cary, NC. It's a week until the college draft and it could be officially announced as early as Monday lol.

lol of course Carli won again. She's definitely one of the best in the world but this wasn't her best year and her performance at the Olympics was average at best. Carli didn't even win best US player (that went to Tobin). Behringer was the most deserving of the three finalist but I wouldn't even say she was the best for Germany this year so...

Ada Hegerberg should have won but of course she wasn't even shortlisted because FIFA is dumb.

Too bad the she believes cup isn't for another month.

Apparently ESPN has a friendly on it's schedule in April before the NWSL season starts. If so, I really hope it's in Florida so I can go. Also, Ellis said they're planning on playing a quite a few top 10 teams this year so I'll be interested to see who they get besides the teams in She Believes. I'd love to see a game against Australia and a Sweden rematch would be awesome.

They definitely need a rematch against Sweden. BS penalty kicks.

Roster for the She Believes pre-camp, two players will be cut heading into the tournament. The only surprises for me are Rapinoe not making it and Sarah Killion and Brianna Pinto (she's only 16). One player I'm really excited to see is Rose Lavelle, she's previously made team rosters but hasn't been capped yet.

U.S. Women’s National Team Roster by Position:
GOALKEEPERS (3): Jane Campbell (Houston Dash), Ashlyn Harris (Orlando Pride), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars)

DEFENDERS (7): Julie Johnston (Chicago Red Stars), Meghan Klingenberg (Portland Thorns FC), Ali Krieger (Orlando Pride), Kelley O’Hara (Sky Blue FC), Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City), Casey Short (Chicago Red Stars), Emily Sonnett (Portland Thorns FC)

MIDFIELDERS (9): Morgan Brian (Houston Dash), Tobin Heath (Portland Thorns FC), Lindsey Horan (Portland Thorns FC), Sarah Killion (Sky Blue FC), Rose Lavelle (Boston Breakers), Carli Lloyd (Houston Dash), Allie Long (Portland Thorns FC), Samantha Mewis (NC Courage), Brianna Pinto (CASL)

FORWARDS (6): Crystal Dunn (Chelsea Ladies FC), Alex Morgan (Olympique Lyonnais), Christen Press (Chicago Red Stars), Mallory Pugh (UCLA), Amy Rodriguez (FC Kansas City), Lynn Williams (NC Courage)

@Jill, then why did you bring her to Rio?!?
Seriously that was one of the dumbest coaching decision ever, if she isn't fit now she definitely wasn't fit then.

Another big USWNT move likely to be announced tomorrow; Carli Lloyd is going to sign with Manchester City until June, similar to what Alex is doing. Although I don't know if she will also have an option to add another year.

It's a big get for Man City who are about to head into the Champions League quarterfinals, Carli apparently turned down big offers from Lyon and clubs in China to sign with them. It sucks to see for Houston Dash fans though because it's never seemed like Carli has been committed to the team at all.

Not very exciting at all but I do like that they went with red. Also why in the world did they announce this at midnight? Lmao

Excited for the game tonight but I won't be able to start it until I get off work.

Sonnett and Lavelle are so dumb but I love this lol

Crazy that Anja Mittag now has 150 caps and thus as many as Lothar Matthäus, who is the man with the most caps for Germany. But she is still 64 caps behind Birgit Prinz...

Damn, hats off to Lynn for that goal but Press straight up created that out of nothing. The goal post is her enemy. Germany definitely seemed a bit off but I thought we did well in the 3-back. They definitely looks much better in it than a few months ago.

I'm not a fan of Ellis not using all 6 six subs. She talks about how much this is a time to work in newer players but it doesn't do any good if she isn't getting younger players more (or first) looks.

V excited that Rose Lavelle is getting her first cap today. Plus Ellis is finally playing, in my opinion, should probably be the starting 3-back rather than Becky-Long-Short grouping she's been going with so it'll be interesting to see how they do.

Definitely some nerves early on but that nutmeg on Bronze by Lavelle was nasty.

It's been nice to find out women's reffing is as bad as men's this game. Yikes.

Terrible defending on the corner that led to the England goal. Ash did all she could to save the initial shot and then an abysmal attempt at clearance.

That pitch at the Germany-England game looks ridiculous.

    Thoughts:
    - Jill Ellis is not a good coach. Bad tactics and bad decisions with where she's playing people and how she's using her subs.

    - Allie Long is not good enough at CB to play in a 3-back. I don't think we should playing it all fwiw. It's supposed be giving us an edge by moving people forward but scoring one goal in three games is bad and the trade-off in defenders isn't worth it if we can't even put anything in the back of the net. I know they haven't had a ton of games in this formation and they can make improvements but with this current three in the back it's not going to work, they just don't have enough pace.

    - Carli Lloyd should not be starting with the way she's been playing, she was noneffective in all of three of these games.

    - Bright spot: Rose Lavelle has been great and will only continue to get better.

Although not the equal pay they originally sought for (I get the sense that's Hope was the main person pushing for this and the others not as much), I'm glad they finally got a deal done that it seems like they're happy with.
