Also ngl, I don't like Hope's comments anymore than you guys do but it's real cool of you to all come in here to trash her but only like two of you post in here on a semi-regular basis.

 

It's the USWNT losing before the semi-finals, it's noteworthy to those beyond who watch women's soccer regularly.

 

Hope is the undisputed greatest goalie in women's soccer history. That's fact. All the hot takes today have driven me insane.

It's fair that some people don't follow it as regularly but it just telling to me that the majority of people who came in here to talk about Hope have had little to nothing to say in here about the Olympic tournament up to this point. Sorry for feeling that way.

 

ANYWAY heartbroken for Australia. They are so young and have a ton of promise. They'll definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the next World Cup.

Gonna pull for Canada the rest of the way, hopefully I'm not cursing everyone I root for lol.

Lol that's so great. Australia is my second favorite national team, quite a few of them play in the NWSL so I've quickly grown to love them.

 

The more I've thought about Hope's statement, the more brilliant (the outrageous, not the actual words being brilliant) it seems. This team, compared to many others, was pretty inexperienced -- eight first time Olympians, I believe? -- and she immediately removed the spotlight from her team. Veteran move, really.

 

Good lord, BRAvSWE is going to extra time too. If this one goes to PKs I'm gonna throw something. I really hope Brazil can hit the back of the net and end this one.

Also hoping Canada can get another win against Germany today. I'd like to see them win the whole thing but I'd be happy with Brazil winning too.

The USA-Brazil rivalry in women's soccer is as such that I could never root for them, haha.

 

Can you believe that no women's game in the Olympics had gone to PKs before this year and it's already happened 3 times in 5 games? This is tournament is too stressful.
