Idk, from the sounds of the industry folks chiming in on his post it sounds like it was known.

  2. From what I saw most of the industry people I know were commenting about the Derrick situation and that kind of manipulation, and not this. I had never heard about underage solicitation before. Not even rumblings.

@Jason Tate should we enter the BN reddit to prove that not everyone agreeing with you about this is a "sycophant" who follows your opinions blindly? I'm sure we can find at least one tiny example of us disagreeing....

I'm sorry for the victim, and this is just awful. There could be serious legal liability here - if any of those images still exist and can be traced, and it's not beyond statute of limitations, he could face jail time.

  6. Hah, us? Never.

I will continue to visit reddit very, very seldom. I have a hard enough time with my tiny place on the internet here.

  8. i genuinely don't really know how to reconcile the fact that i have the deja astronaut permanently on my arm. i've always looked at tattoos as sort of a living scrapbook, i.e. it wouldn't matter if i no longer liked BN when i'm 50, because they still meant a lot to me at one point. so in that context, this doesn't change what they meant to me at one point (and still mean to me, frankly), but i do still feel weird about it. i also find myself thinking, if they do a farewell tour next year... how do i not go? but at the same time, would i feel uncomfortable in that crowd? why should i continue financially supporting them? and then of course i feel guilty for even having these questions, because my ability or inability to enjoy their music is nowhere as important as the victim's abuse.

Lol yeah a lot of sarcasm in that post.

On the real tho, the hoops that people jump through to defend their heros, or simply their own (straight, white dudes) is consistently terrifying

Oh okay. I️ never caught too much of that information. I was assuming that Eddie & the reddit secondhand news, maybe Wills comment might have been alluding to “glad this is out”. My bad on the assumptions though.

Me personally, I don’t really call people the way Adam did unless there’s something really specific on my mind.

Either way, brand new won’t be getting my money anymore.

I mean, you’re there. Realizing that you’re not the most important part is ... honestly truly not a step many can take. That said, I don’t really have a good answer. The line is different for everyone. You can’t take off a tattoo. You can choose to still listen to a song, or not. But I will say, it is important to not reward abusers and their friends. I struggled with this a few years ago. I found out the guys in Fireworks were close with and actively hanging out with Harry Corrigan as the accusations against him were happening. One of my favorite bands. So I didn’t go to their last show. It hurt, but I felt better in the long run about it because it would have felt worse to stand in that crowd and pretend it was okay and that I wasn’t uncomfortable and disappointed.

I, too have some retracting to do in that I've always looked at Adam's comments on Jesse in a different light until now.

  20. I still haven't gotten over all the people that circled the wagons for that guy, and continue to work in the music scene, and I don't think I ever will. I'll forever be angry and hold a grudge about all of that.

also, sorry to ask this here, but i'm unsure where else to ask it (feel free to redirect me)

i have a question pertaining roughly to "what do you do when you know someone you admire is an abuser" with kind of a shitty twist. if anyone would feel comfortable fielding it please pm me.
