they were amazing when I saw them last saturday. they had someone on a lap steel guitar and that added so much to their sound, it was crucial and perfect.

Still obsessed with this album. Last month, I played it for my girlfriend while driving down a mountain in Shenandoah National Park after a hiking trip and it just hit perfectly. It’s a moment I cherish deeply.

That’s a hell of a coincidence!! Glad you enjoyed your trip.

We stayed at the Big Meadows lodge for two nights and it was very cozy and romantic. They had nightly live entertainment and on the first night, this dude performed a whole set of Revolutionary War songs lol. What was even stranger was everyone in the audience knew the words to singalong except us. My girlfriend and I felt like we stumbled into an episode of Twin Peaks or something haha

Fuck yes. Also Dondadi's ambient album from last year is amazing so I'm happy to see a remix from him for my favorite song on the album.

not usually a fan of remixes but I think this is really well done and fits in with the original. excited to hear the others now.

Yeah, I think remixes in “indie rock” are usually a complete waste, but this one is nice.

"If he sticks to his guns, Yolk In The Fur will be another modest predecessor to Ross going for it — he’s in the process of writing a concept double album around the mythology of the American West and has already tracked some songs with a fiddle player. He also feels like it’s equally indebted to Ken Burns and Titus Andronicus, bringing up The Monitor as a kind of inspirational totem: “Its scope was so manic and enormous, it was almost demoralizing. Like, ‘I’ll never do anything like this.'”
