This is maybe the best on the album

I don't quite know how to properly articulate it, but I'll just say John Ross writes songs the way I would write songs if I knew how to write them. I don't know if you could give a higher compliment to a songwriter and the way they connect with their audience. The man is a god.

 

All three songs fucking slay and I can’t wait for this album.

 

Had a meeting scheduled at the time of the listening party that got cancelled like two minutes before it started, but I’d already put the stream out of my head so I wound up forgetting anyway lol. Lame. Listened in for a clip of Bonnie though which sounded nuts

listening to ILYSM in preparation for tomorrow. the run from Simple Glyphs to The Grass Widow is unbelievable - not to say everything else isn't phenomenal. I swear this album means so much to me, lyrically, musically, emotionally. I can't lie that hearing that this new one is super different is a touch disappointing because of how deeply I feel this album, but I'm still excited. I heard some of the new tracks live last year and they sounded great. these guys are simply the best.

 

I legitimately might have ILYSM as my no 1 from him but I’m very excited for tomorrow

Are there interpolations of classic tracks on every song? Some are definitely more obvious than others

I was really unsure about “Eating the Egg Whole” when it dropped as a single. Now I think it’s one of their best songs. Amazing.

also, I just love guitars.
