Also its hilarious the amount of DMs and texts I got today from people I haven't spoken to in up to 12 years asking if I wanted to go. Feels like this is gonna be a huge high school reunion lol

Guess they were a bad example. Just mean in general it’s odd to think a band would go through the hassle to play 25 minutes.

I’ve been fortunate to see so many of these bands. Hopefully lots of people who haven’t are able to go and have a great time.

Yeah the booking of some of the newer artists is weird. A second day would be cool. I assume their might be some aftershows or bands playing shows that weekend that could be announced once it sells out.

Yeah a 25 minute Armor For Sleep, Anberlin, Acceptance, Etc set would be such tease too lol I assume they all were paid handsomely since a lot of artists didn’t seem to even know the lineup.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

For a band like Armor For Sleep or The Starting Line, I bet being on this lineup will reignite their streaming numbers. On top of a decent guarantee from Live Nation as well.

I really, really want to take the plunge but it's hard to commit to something like this 10 months in advance. I have a couple of questions.

Does anyone know if it's possible to resell a (GA or VIP) ticket if I can't make it or whatever? Is it a good idea to do the hotel package usually or does it not matter in a place like Vegas where all the hotels are close to the venue?

Ah I knew this all seemed so familiar! Live Nation has ANOTHER festival like this, Lovers & Friends Fest, in May. It's 90s R&B themed, 50 acts on 3 stages in 1 day. It sold out and they added a second day with the same lineup/schedule. I'm absolutely anticipating this selling out instantly and then they add a second day for 10/23. I would love to know what the attendance capacity is:

My musical taste is all over the map, I'm actually scanning that lineup now and thinking I could have a hell of a good time there as well haha

Part of me thinks I should at least attempt to buy these tickets and if I'm personally not comfortable with the state of the world at the moment I wouldn't have a hard time getting rid of them. Anyone else in same boat?

Yeah I feel that. Like I live on the east coast and who knows if I’d even be able to go all the way to Vegas for this but if I buy them and end up not wanting to or being able to go, surely I’d be able to sell them.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Wanted to address this as I was actually at Once Upon a Time in LA and it was the worst put together event I’ve ever been to.

On the main stage Too Short was late early in the afternoon which pushed everything back, they wound up cutting The Game’s set after 1 song, and then the event stopped abruptly around 8:30pm after DTR was killed backstage (they didn’t officially ‘cancel’ the event until after 10:30pm). Snoop, YG, and 50 never played.

Food trucks each had 1.5+ hour lines, water and drink lines were all 1+ hour.

I’m going to be attending this in Vegas, but I’m also fully expecting it to be chaos.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Are Once Upon a Time and When We Were Young owned by the same company? I think the only reason that was shared was to show how the rotating stage schedule worked.

I’m pretty sure they’re both put on by LiveNation, and their websites are identical so I assumed it’s the same organizer.

I certainly could be wrong, however. I simply wanted to point out that I wouldn’t use OUAT as an example of what could work because it did in theory, but in reality it was chaos.

Wow that's crazy to hear. I'm now realizing that I did read about this last month:
Rapper Drakeo the Ruler fatally stabbed at L.A. music festival

Hopefully they'll have worked out the kinks with Lovers & Friends and things go smoothly for us in October. With Astroworld and Once Upon a Time disasters happening back to back, Live Nation really needs to get their shit together.

couldn’t agree more! I’m hopeful for this festival as rappers aren’t typically know for being the most timely with their set times, but bands obviously have the set up and tear down times as well. It’ll be interesting, but I’m here for it lol

I will say, at the least, the online discourse from this has been super fun and has reminded me of peak commercial pop punk/emo era where everything felt like an event to lil angsty me.

    And
I like it but I'm nervous, based on other festivals, that they're gonna do something silly like put my chem and afi same time or like more big bands

I didn’t realize until right now that Alkaline Trio is on the lineup lol
