If you like "extreme" metal/grind, check this one out. It's short, and very good. Thanks for the rec, @swboyd!

I'd recommend bulletproof coffee over that, tbh

    what a waste of wood

made bulletproof coffee with death wish today and it ruled

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I use the extreme as a descriptor because I hear black, death, crust, doom, and sludge metal influences in there and needed an easy catch-all term to express that. I hate myself for it, but it was the simplest solution.

I can’t shower at night, when I do I end up sweating overnight and feel gross lol

I need to commit to Keto already. I've tried multiple times and folded. I felt so great when I was on it, and the pounds shed so quickly!

    don't like coffee.

    tastes bad.

I like green tea though, so I usually brew 3 tea bags in a 30 ounce cup and pour that over ice all day.

when I did the intermittent fasting I felt a ton better I need to do that again because I'm gaining too much weight and when I eat breakfast I usually binge on stuff, hence my addiction to toast lately.

I don't know why, but crust metal just rubs me the wrong name. Not the music, the term

yeah showering the night before is great for when I go to bed, but I still have to shower in the morning.

I could talk about this for a while haha.

I think A Crow Looked At Me is easily, really without much of a contest, the most emotional record of 2017. I also think it’s the most powerful record of 2017. I think it is perfect in what it was set out to be. There is no record ever written that’s like A Crow Looked At Me.

“Well okay Kennedy, those are some awfully hefty opinions for an album that you didn’t say was your album of the year”

Yes. And really, i don’t know how to explain it. A Crow Looked At Me is an album that I was uncomfortable with at first (like everyone to some degree), but then grew to love for its beauty and reflection on love. It makes you ponder mortality and relationships. It makes you ponder what people mean to you. It also is a very human record. Maybe the most human record my ears have ever heard.

What do I mean by human? A Crow Looked At Me doesn’t search for metaphor. It doesn’t look to explain death. It doesn’t do anything of that. Instead, it just is. It is Phil’s mind in his mortal Hell. That isn’t a light statement. It is a autobiographical write up of anguish, depression, and just wishing you can go back in time and have what you did. It’s loving someone but that person just not being there. And they won’t be back.

I could go on - but I guess what I’d eventually get at is... in my brain A Crow Looked At Me is like... on a different plain than other albums. I don’t listen to it the same way I listen to other albums (for the most part). I don’t expect this to make ANY sense. But an album like A Crow Looked At Me, its just a heavy pill to swallow. But the more you take it in, the more you swallow it, the more you realize it’s beauty. Nonetheless, I do not revisit it as much as a Phoebe Bridgers or Manchester album. I almost regard it in reverence.

    Does this make ANY sense??

I agree. This is reminding me of a band called Middle Class Rut a bit. That band released some good stuff.

Definitely digging this so far. The beginning of ''I Don't Wanna Be Blind'' reminds me of Citizen a lot

    what a waste of wood

good post, i know exactly what you mean

theres some albums that I consider to be some of the greatest all time that are simply too sad/emotional to listen to on a regular basis

    ACLAM
The Mountain Goats - Get Lonely

are 2 big ones for me. they don't use cryptic language or anything.. they're just straight up painfully sad

its funny because I spend almost ALL of my time listening to "sad" music.. sad music makes me feel better always

But yeah I stand behind the Middle Class Rut comparison the more I listen the more I'm reminded of them.

"theres only 2 kinds of music, the blues and zip-a-dee-doo-dah.. and "walkin on sunshine" kinda makes you feel like shit, don't it?"
