ET DUCIT MUNDUM PATRONEUA BLAHBLAH

this is one of the most boring intros to an album I’ve ever heard. I mean, my god. It’s 2 minutes too long, and it’s pretentious as it gets

 

THE FLIGHT OF APOLLO-
Ok I admit I like this song, one of my favorite AvA songs(not saying much). Toms verses are really good in this one sound wise. The chorus is ok. I do not like the little intro to the song where Tom chants about god and whatnot. Could cut that out

 

YOUNG LONDON-
I used to love this riff, but dislike the lyrics. Then Blink made Neighborhoods and Tom used this riff on Natives. That’s the better song with this riff. On revisiting this song it’s not as bad as I remember it, but the ending of the song is repetitive as all hell. And this chorus is one of his worst

 

SHOVE-
This song is quintessential Timmy DillyDilly. Life is magical and love is fantastic let’s dance on tree tips weeeee. In all honesty, this song isn’t THAT bad. But it’s a bland love song, and that dancing on tree tips line makes me cringe sometimes.

 

Also the outro is complete bullshit, @Larry David if it doesn’t bother you don’t complain about Starset outros ever again

 

Epic Holliday-
Probably the best song on this album after Apollo(although it’s again a riff Tom reused on Neighborhoods. Ghost On The Dance Floor Anyone?). The lyrics aren’t that bad, sometimes they border being not bad at all. But then Tom works his magic and you remember it’s an AvA album. It’s fun though so I can give it a pass.

HALLUCINATIONS-
‘The Adventure’ of this album, with the theme of Love like Shove. I actually enjoyed this song a lot more when I was younger. Revisiting it now it’s..eh. Not too bad. But it’s not as good as I remember it.

 

THE MOON ATOMIC-
Oh fuck I forgot about this song. This song is actually pretty good. These verses are pretty dang good and sound cool. This is a good enough song. Probably gonna put this higher up the list than Epic Holiday but behind Apollo. Except again another terrible outro.

 

CLEVER LOVE-
This song was forgettable back when I actually liked AvA, and it’s still forgettable now. It’s not even in a it’s so bad sense. It’s forgetable because it’s boring. It’s so repetitive in the back of the song, and I had forgotten the lyrics by the time it ended.

 

SOUL SURVIVOR-
YEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOO. YEEEEAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOO. I think people who complain about California’s NANANANAs and Woahohs forget about Tom’s yodeling in AvA, he used to be more prevalent with them but they kind of fell a bit....and then they make up half of this song. Oh right the song itself. Sucks.
