I honestly think it might be just because I have such great memories associated with Raditude

 

Great album that's only gonna get better with the summer and warm weather. Might fight Brian Fallon as my go-to beers on the deck album.

 

Yeah, out of everything I've heard so far this year, Weezer and Brian are my favorite. Definitely will spend a lot of time with both this summer.

 

Add the new Nada Surf to that list

 

This album is so good its made me revisit the "bad" Weezer albums. Red has some gems, "The Angel and The One" might be the best song theyve ever written. Lyrically that whole album is kind of weak but theyve done much worse (Raditude, Make Believe, and Hurley still dont hold up very well). Maladroit is also really, really solid.

 

Red gets way too much hate.

Raditude on the other hand...

 

Red has some good songs but also a few duds that drag the album down as a whole.

Still love The Greatest Man That Ever Lived and The Angel and the One. Also have a soft spot for Thought I Knew.

 

on Raditude I like Put Me Back Together, Let It All Hang Out , I Don't Want To Let You Go, and I'm Your Daddy (Despite the lyrics).

I can only listen to the AOL Sessions live version of Can't Stop Partying with Chamillionaire. Lil Wayne is one of the worst "musicians" to ever get a record deal.

 

I think this might actually beat out EWBAITE as my solid third favorite Weez album. Wind in Our Sails, SE & DD, LAGz, TGFG, DYWGH?, Endless Bummer, and the crown jewel, (Girl We Got A) Good Thing. Goddamn Good Thing is so dang good. Perfect =w= attempt at Beach Boys.

 

i agree. lyrically it has some bad moments (Greatest Man Who Every Lived is really bad imo) but all in all its a solid Weezer album, which is pretty much exactly how I feel about Green.

 

I'm gonna go right out and say that Jacked Up is the most underrated song on the album. I love it, but I've seen other people shit on it for some reason.

 

omg i totally agree. that jangly piano and the drumming is addictive.

 

Our Lady Peace is my favorite band so I've come to greatly appreciate falsetto vocals as well hahaha

 

Of the first four tracks, I only don't like "Thank God For Girls." And I have never been a Weezer person

 

Weezer's first singles are always weak.

 

Undone and El Scorcho say hi

 

Can make an argument for Hash Pipe as well. Maybe even Dope Nose.


I can agree with almost every album since though.

I love El Scorcho, but it is neither my favorite Pinkerton track nor is it at all indicative of the album as a whole hahaha. I have long believed that if Weezer had released Why Bother? or The Good Life as the first single for Pinkerton, the whole narrative surrounding that album would have changed.

Edit: Also, can't stand Hash Pipe, and Back To The Shack and TGFG are far and away worse than anything else on their respective records. Granted, not every record has been proceeded by a bad first single, but they do it a lot haha.

this album is so stunningly vibrant. I don't know how often I'll go back to it, but it sure is a lot of fun. love the production especially

 

I love the songs themselves so much that I haven't put much thought into the production, but it's pretty damn immaculate.

 

If You're Wondering is an A+ lead single, got me so amped on that album haha

 

Didn't they play like 20 songs though? That's pretty much a full Weezer headlining set

 

I had this exact thought when EWBAITE came out. That's one of the main reasons I couldn't get into it too much. While most people thought they "sold out" with Raditude, Hurley, etc.. I thought EWBAITE was potentially more of a "sell out" record than anything, just because they knew that sound was what their fans wanted. Maybe you'd call that "selling IN," because they're doing it for their fans and not for mass success? haha, i don't know. But this album feels a lot more genuine to me than EWBAITE so I love it. There are still poppier moments that really shine through and I think they found a good balance between experimenting and staying true to their original sound.

That being said, I am one of the few who don't consider Rad. and Hurley terrible records. I think there are great songs on each and I don't understand the whole comparing Raditude (2009) to Blue Album (1994) thing. I mean, we're talking about different decades..
