I’m your daddy has dumb lyrics but it’s kind of a guilty pleasure lmao

 

Most of the time when I dislike a Weezer song it's because of the lyrics, not the music. There's fun, catchy instrumentation going on even on Raditude.

Beverly Hills is still bad all around though.

 

I'm starting Red. Guess I've got a few albums of slog ahead of me huh

 

Just almost all of Red and almost all of Raditude. On Hurley, there are more good songs than bad. Then you get to the real good stuff.

since make believe Weezer's albums are all weird but they fall on a scale from bad weird (raditude) to great weird (white) with red Hurley ewbaite daydream and black all in various sections along that scale.

 

red has some really dope tracks but yeah it falls closer to the bad weird than the good weird

 

Red has possibly the best Weezer song on it (Angel and the One)

 

plus greatest man who ever lived is a fucking trip

both of these absolutely slap, as does Automatic (that squelchy guitar + Pat's vox) and Pork and Beans (just a banger). yeah half of Red is really great

 

so yeah the last decade of Weezer releases are all weird
bad weird: raditude teal
average weird: pacific daydream
good weird: Hurley red
great weird: EWBAITE, White, Black

 

Ruling Me is one of their best post-pinkerton tracks, but the rest of the album is mostly mehh

 

My sister bought me one as a gag gift for Christmas a handful of years ago haha. Never worn it though.

 

My last name is Hurley, so for me it's even better haha

Hang On and Ruling Me are the best tracks on Hurley

 

I caught a youtube upload of Honest and caved and gave it one listen. Like it a lot. Still gonna wait for the last 4 on Friday haha.

 

Update: I've listened to Honest 4 times. I love the instrumentation so much

 

Miss Sweeney is classic

 

The unreleased tracks from Black are definetly my favorite. That run from tracks 5-8 is fire.

 

I really don't like "Prince" but 5-9 otherwise is one of their best runs imo

both great but y'all sleep on TRAINWRECKS

 

Does every major outlet have it out for them?

 

Every attack on them is just strengthening my fandom at this point
