Hero will be a great opener, it's way easier to skip in the opening slot.

it kinda worries me that more than half this album is just EWBAITE demos they wrote new lyrics for and two more are from the 90s

I mean those eras are both great, but it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence that they were super inspired on this album lol

 

I didn’t know this and this made me more excited for it tbh haha

when he released all those demo boxsets on his website last year people noticed that a significant amount of Van Weezer was there lmao

"Beginning of the End" is a rewrite of a (way better) EWBAITE demo called "Only a Cockroach". "Blue Dream" (the one they played in the Simpsons for a minute) is the same, from "Ballad of the Briny". "End of the Game" is from somewhere in the late EWBAITE/early White sessions, not exactly sure. "I Need Some of That" wasn't in the demos but the song title was written in the EWBAITE liner notes, along with a bunch of unreleased stuff

"Sheila Can Do It" and "I've Thrown it All Away" are the two from the 90s, although it seems like the latter got cut from this new tracklist. shame, I was very interested in it cos of the Jason Cropper credit

 

that extra info makes me even more excited for the album

 

Honestly thought this was gonna get delayed again, I'm stoked

 

would of been a fun idea to do a livestream release of this and mix in a ton of MALADROIT songs. close enough to 20 year anniversary.

 

Corny seems to be the M.O. for this record but that chorus smacks

 

Yeah I think I like this but it lowkey sounds like "Let It All Hang Out" lol
