I just remembered one, but how I was reminded was much too tragic.

Anton Yelchin died in a car accident today. He was 27.

Not that he wasn't a 'star' or an 'unknown,' but I never felt he truly got the recognition he deserved, and always hoped he would be able to move onto another tier of stardom.

Now he never will.

Gone far, far too young.

This fucking year, man. Seriously.

He was certainly on an upward trajectory. Green Room, Star Trek, Alpha Dog, Like Crazy, Only Lovers Left Alive, Charlie Bartlett, he just radiated soulfulness, nuance, and good heartedness. Exceedingly talented and he actively sought out and made interesting and diverse films. It's a tragedy to lose him and his talent.

 

Michelle Williams did a great job portraying her warmth and nuance

 

Came in here for this. The man was incredible in this year's Green Room. He surely had a prosperous career cut short.

 

Yelchin was one of the first people I thought of. (Murphy and Segel too, the latter absolutely blew me away in End of the Tour). Very sad to see him go, especially so young.

 

Fuck, Anton Yelchin for sure. Such a horrible loss.

 

2016 has been a goddamn blessing in terms of music, but it's also taken way too many awesome people away from us. Ugh. Such a bummer.

 

Katherine Waterston has given some really great under the radar performances in the last couple years and I feel like she's destined to blow up this year.

 

random thread bump but I figured this was the best place for me to say that I love Brett Gelman, and even though he gets a lot of roles I don't feel he's really as "popular" as he deserves to be
