    Warped Memories

2012: at barricade for Blessthefall, seeing NFG for the first time, seeing ATL play to a full amphitheater hometown show
2013: seeing Silverstein open up the main stage and solidifying my love for them, watching The Used kill it to a full amphitheater and throw powder everywhere, being in the pit for WCAR who were my main band that year
2014: seeing State Champs for the first time (which fully got me into them) and closing out MD, watching Beartooth for the first time and being terrified of how crazy their crowd was, seeing TSSF for the first time and going nuts
2015: so many mud mights (oh boy), watching This Wild Life not knowing any other the other bands' set times, going absolutely batshit crazy to Beartooth when they played main stage that day, finally getting to watch PTV in a warped setting with a full on pit, getting to watch people Blessthefall try to instigate a mud fight but getting caught in the crossfire anyways, watching Amity's set with a dude in a wheelchair crowdsurfing to Death's Hand, TWY closing out MD with a bang
2016: crowdsurfing In Hearts Wake's singer on a blowup boat at the start, going mental to Wage War in the heat, having my first ever Warped crowdsurf to State Champs during Secrets, getting to watch Yellowcard right after for the very last time (such an emotional set), finally getting to watch Sum 41 despite being buried in the back, getting to watch Ice Nine Kills in the rain (made it way more special)
2017: finally getting to see Silverstein again after three years of not seeing them, witnessing Beartooth have the biggest crowd of the day in MD, singing my heart out and being in the middle of a great crowd for Dance Gavin Dance, having so much dust inhaled from the Counterparts set (the Monster stages as a whole really)
2018: getting to watch Movements have a great crowd at both VA and MD warped (someone setting off confetti during daylily in VA was awesome), witnessing FYS' last warped show ever in MD with an unstoppable crowd (in the amphitheater mind you), getting to watch Grayscale aka my main band this year at both dates kill it with the MD crowd absolutely smash it, finally getting to watch Simple Plan and We the Kings back to back in MD, having my last ever crowdsurf to State Champs during Criminal after my friend hassled me to do it being the last ever one, finally getting to watch ETID in warped setting in MD, and closing out MD with Ice Nine Kills seeing as metalcore got me to warped in the first place so it felt just right to end it with them

So heavy! Proof they’re one of the bands that care about the music and fans. They’ve been constantly been putting out quality music for close to 20 years and hopefully don’t stop any time soon

I can’t believe it’s over. Warped has been such a huge part of my life since the first year I went in 2005. I’ve gone every year since with the exception of 2017, with moving cross country and everything it just didn’t work out. Warped was easily the day I looked forward to the most every single year. Even the years with lackluster lineups, there was still so much fun to be had. I credit this tour for getting me into so much to the music I still love today.

    Some memory highlights:
2005: somehow sneaking backstage with my friend and meeting Travis Barker and Tim Armstrong right before the Transplants set.
2005: being so fucking exhausted that I was going to sit out on the side for FOB’s set, and ended up being pulled into their massive crowd and was in the circle pit the entire time(which I will argue to this Day was the biggest I’ve ever seen)
2006: hanging backstage with another friend, seeing Hayley Williams pass by and grabbing a picture with her.
2006: got baracade for Paramore as they were the first band of the day.
2006: meeting all of Motion City Soundtrack for the first time.
2008: the entire main stage lineup of 2008
2010-2013: the years I got in for free working with some amazing companies (fearless Records, Atticus, etc)
2014: winning a massive prize pack that included two free tickets, merch, cds from Warped bands, skate decks and more.
2015: a friend of a friend ended up getting us on beartooths guest list in Chicago which gave me full access to all areas of the tour. Highlight was watching Transit (unfortunately for my last time ever) on the side of the amphitheater stage.
2016: getting the mic from Keith dying Every Time I Die during the breakdown of Floater, and catching a pick from Jordan
2018: taking my sister to her first and last Warped and watching her experience it was truly something special. I went back to my hometown of San Diego for this one so it was like a massive reunion. What a way to go out.

First band I ever saw at Warped: Hawthorne Heights
Last band I ever saw at Warped: The Maine.

What a fucking ride. Forever Warped.

This is such a better video than mine cuz it has the entire performance of the song. I just have the entire ten minute jam cuz I was dancing in the pit to the rest of the song.

My favorite memory of the Vans Warped Tour was today. Just this last ETID set. It was one for the ages that I’m beyond happy I saw. Just the ten minute solo, Jordan never wanting to leave the stage. It was the shit of legends. Hands down the greatest thing I have ever and will ever have seen at the Warped Tour.
I am going to miss everything about this tour. I’m gonna miss the community. The dusty mosh pits. The crowdsurfing. The 100 degree days. The endless amounts of water I feel I need to drink. The sunburn. Going home at night with cuts bruises dust and a blown out voice that takes days to come
Back. Everything about this tour I’m going to miss. I’m gonna miss the community on chorus.fm doing our yearly Rumors and Predictions thread that lasts all the way up to the day of announcements. All the Shitposting and memes we created together.
In the words of Keith Buckley “I don’t have any idea what a post-Warped world will look....What concerns me is what a post-Warped world will look like for the kids. The gates to their summer camp will close. The lights will turn off. And they may forget what it’s like to be excited long before they should.”

So, So Long and Goodnight to the Vans Warped Tour. I’ll miss you and whatever the future holds for the tour, I’ll be first in line for tickets.

    So assuming that this weekend...

My first Warped Tour was in 2003. I've been almost every year since, many times to multiple dates, so it's hard for me to put together a comprehensive list of my top moments of Warped Tour. Instead, I have a list of the things that immediately come to mind when I reflect on the years that I attended the show.

    2003:
    - Watching Poison the Well and being utterly floored by the sounds I was hearing. This was my first ever exposure to hardcore, and PTW have since become one of my favorite bands.
    - Seeing Bert from the Used jump off the high rise stage speakers into the crowd as the band launched into Say Days Ago (video here).
    - Learning about punk rock by watching Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, and the Suicide Machines.

    2004:
    - Being front row and center for Anti-Flag thanks to their early stage time and being absolutely hooked by the band and its message, serving as a huge political awakening in my life.

    2007:
    - Attending three Warped Tour dates.

    2009:
    - I was a broke college student living in Oakland for the summer. I literally couldn't scrape together the $40 to go to the tour, and it was the night before the San Francisco date. The night before the tour I was looking everywhere I could to try and find a ticket, and my search took me to the Warped Tour Form on the tour's site. I came across a post someone had written about how he bought tickets for his daughter and her friends but one of the friends could not attend. He wasn't looking to sell the ticket, but instead he wanted to give it away to the person who wrote him a message and explained why he or she deserves it. I wrote that man a message as fast as I could, and he responded to let me know that the ticket was mine. I met this man outside of the gates of the venue, got the ticket, and enjoyed the day. I still can't believe my luck when I think back on it.

    2011:
    - Watching my brother sing the final 30 seconds of "Kids and Heroes" by the Bouncing Souls. He was in the crowd and Gregg threw him the mic. We stopped by their tent later on for a signing and Gregg wrote "I knew you'd know the words" on the poster my brother had signed, and it's maybe the happiest I've ever seen him in his life.

    2018:
    - Attending my final Warped Tour with my brother after the numerous times we've gone together.

John // OC now, OH forever.

One more Warped memory - Will Pugh shooting me the dirtiest of looks when they introduced a "brand new song" ("Matter Of Time") off of Chroma. The album had leaked already so a lot of us knew the words and I screamed the "It's a game and you're not the winner" part - after the song, he asked where we'd heard the song.
