I would like Vheissu with the OG cover, as I have the alt cover version. But I think I’ll sit that out.

If anyone is in Toronto and wants to have a 3/50 chance to purchase one of three of the ivory tower releases from RSD this year....

I debated going downtown for this. But I'm hearing there's a standard press in the works so, I'll live off of those rumors.

I gave up on trying to find the US release for Bluey and got the UK release and paid $42 shipped. My kid absolutely will not give a shit

Love Taylor, but I guess I just don't feel much need to own Long Pond on vinyl? I feel like if I'm in a folklore mood, I would always just reach for the actual album.

I’m really glad I only ever need the studio albums of an artist to consider their discography complete. I’d go crazy if I had to collect all the random live sessions / remixes / etc haha

same on both fronts. for me, i consider listening to live albums if they justify their existence by 1. somehow better than their studio recordings, or 2. sounding completely different while still maintaining what made their studio counterparts special. only a few live albums have done that for me, and LPSS is not one of them, unfortunately. plus, it makes more sense to me to engage with LPSS by watching the film on Disney+ rather than simply listening to it.

Yeah, I'm not actually sure I own any live albums on vinyl, now that you mention this.

I quite like some of the versions on Long Pond -- the "august" take is especially cool, and has a slightly different energy than the original -- but I've only listened to it in digital format a few times. I doubt it would get much play on vinyl.

  13. I used to buy live albums but then I rarely listened to them lol

    I only own a few

John Mayer Trio’s Try, which sees as much action as anything else on my shelf. Fantastic live album

DIIV’s Live at Murmrr Theatre, only just got a few days ago in the mail from RSD 2023 and have already spun it twice. It’s acoustic so it’s definitely a different experience from the studio records. It’ll probably get a lot of play

Daughter’s Live @ Air, which I think I’ve spun like… once ever lol. That was a very early purchase in my collecting history. I think it only ran me like $11 so whatever

Oh wait I forgot about the three Starting Line releases from Studio 4. Those I don’t think I’ve ever spun. But TSL is really that band for me so I’m not gonna not own them lol. Plus those aren’t really “concert” live as there’s not crowd or anything

One of my favorite live albums is Biffy Clyro’s, although I’m not sure it’s on vinyl.

My favorite live albums I own on vinyl are: New Found Glory - Kill It Live, Mumford & Sons - The Road to Red Rocks, Twenty One Pilots - Location Sessions / MTV Unplugged, Nirvana - MTV Unplugged; and more recently: Taylor Swift - Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions and The Wonder Years - Burst & Decay.

I'd love to have a vinyl copy of The 1975's recent performance they released digitally from Madison Square Garden, O.A.R.'s Red Rocks performance, and I'm hoping for a re-press of the Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged set.

the only live albums i've ever found myself enjoying were BMTH at the Albert Hall and Joni Mitchell's Miles of Aisles. each took a unique spin on the artist's songs in a way that often times rivaled the original recordings. i really liked some of the cuts from LPSS, but gravitate more towards their studio counterparts.

damn… red sky ep for 75$. i could be convinced to buy that if i was in person. last weekend in chicago’s shuga records, i found (under their RARE section) a red sky ep for 100$, but didn’t pull the trigger because the price.

instead, through coincidence, today i bought a copy of please come home by dustin kensrue in clear blue for 50$. i call that a win.

was able to find my friend a copy of frightened rabbit’s ‘painting of a panic attack’ on my last day in amsterdam, too.

John Mayer’s live double album is what I would consider the best thing that encompasses his career. Plus, “In Your Atmosphere” - come on now.
