In line 2.5 hours ahead, 15 people ahead of me. I watched The 1975 sell out right in front of me. Pain.

Yeah I ended up paying like double the price for The 1975 on eBay. Still the lower end of how much it’s selling, but it was the only way I was gonna feasibly get it.

  4. I’m in line at my local store right now. I’ll try and snag a 1975 and sell it at cost to someone here who weren’t able to get one.

I hate record store day. Waited in line for 1.5 in the rain and the person in front of me got the only copy of The 1975.

  7. On one hand I’m happy that the taylor swift record is getting people out to record stores for the first time and hopefully it’s a gateway into supporting their local store

on the other cynical hand the lines are so fucking long this year

Showed up too late to get a copy of 1975 here in San Diego. Still have another 90 minutes to go before they open. Tons of people wearing Taylor Swift merch in line.

Got The Magnetic Fields and the Frank Turner plus a few non-RSD LPs. Missed The Wonder Years, which is a bummer since I was actually at the show they recorded for the release. Gonna try to get a copy when everyone tosses their leftovers online tomorrow.

If it wasn't for Taylor I'm sure the lines would've been a lot smaller. Why are folks dropping so much on it already? They seem readily available if you lined up early enough.

The store I went to showed 80 on their online inventory only to go up to 120! They still had 50 when I finally got in the shop. Showed the owner my list and he told me I was good for all of it.

So pretty successful RSD minus The 1975, I probably could have grabbed another 2 lps but I already dropped over $300.

It was nice seeing parents with their kids lining up for it, pretty sure some ppl camped out overnight.

I'll post my haul in a bit, I've been up since 3am and need to relax (possibly have a nap).

I would put money on that 1975 record getting a wider release later on. Also, mail day.

Hit up two stores today, but got most of what I was looking for (minus The Wonder Years). Also grabbed a copy of Sempiternal while I was at it.

Here’s my RSD’23 haul…my store ran out of Taylor Swift, but still some decent pick-ups.

    The RSD haul.

I may grab the Pearl Jam and Soul Asylum exclusives if they're still still kicking around online. Keeping an eye out for HORSE and Taproot at US retailers online tomorrow.

Lastly, waiting for The 1975 to show up at Canadian retailers.

Man I really want Chuck. Hoping that some online retailers have it tomorrow. I know Dine Alone is Canadian. You know of any others that could possibly have it?

Showed up to Bull Moose this morning around 7:25. They do a sign up system so people can just return to their cars rather than line up. I was somewhere in the 25 range.

Tons of people there for Taylor, though most actually had 1-2 others on their list. An employee came out and said they had between 80-100, so everyone there would get one if they wanted it. I think there were about 75 of us by the time 8 rolled around.

I was able to get everything I wanted except The 1975. They had 3 copies and they went within the first 5 people. Even the CDs sold out. I stopped by a lesser known record store on my way home in the off chance people just didn’t know it was there. They got one copy and the employee told me it was the very first record sold this morning, even before Taylor.

    All in all, picked up:
    Taylor Swift
    Our Lady Peace (last copy)
    Post Malone
    Underoath (only copy)
    The Wonder Years
