anyone know of any plans to press A Static Lullaby records, especially And Don't Forget to Breathe? It's strange I haven't heard anything from them or anyone trying to do it. I thought that was a pretty seminal album from the scene.

At an Andrew McMahon show tonight and had the chance to chat to him beforehand. I asked about the SoCo albums getting repressed and he said that’s the plan and it’s currently being worked on, but the label was dragging their feet.

Hoping to see these later this year!

One of the greatest pop albums ever. Saw this was already posted in the SG thread but figured I'd drop it here.

I have the Singles collection but definitely need the whole album. Hoping Affirmation is on the horizon shortly!

Are these 90s/00s pop pressings going to sound good on vinyl? Or are they just going to be the digital versions pressed?

Question for the thread: How do you know when you need to change your needle? I'm jamming some Mastodon right now and it's sort of fading in and out - not sure if that's a needle issue but I also think it sounds a little too messy. Any recommendations?

U-Turn is stumped as to why my new turntable has a loud hum :verysad:.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know a lot about the technical side of things, but maybe someone here who does can help? What's your full set up?

Orbit TT to Fosi Audio Box 2 into Edifier R1280T. There was no hum with my shitty old turntable into the same setup. Touching the tonearm makes it way louder, touching the ground screw on the preamp makes it quieter. They're reluctant to say it's a grounding issue but it sounds like one to me. Tried different RCAs and it seemed worse. No buzz when RCAs aren't plugged into the preamp, very loud when plugged into the preamp but not into the table.

  24. I’ve always been told as a rule of thumb to just do it if you notice the sound is consistently distorting more than you’re used to, but haven’t heard anything about a volume issue like that. Could be a tube issue though if your receiver uses those. If you know what kind of needle you have, you may be able to find a recommended spin count or something online — hopefully you’ve been counting every single album you’ve ever played and how many times you’ve played them, as one does

Can't say I'm an expert with this still but since recently purchasing the Pro-Ject X2 and having a preamp for the first time. I ran into the same issue. It was definitely a grounding issue after fiddling around with the grounding wire to the TT.
