RSD list should be out soon, no? Any rumors of anything exciting?

 

Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires recorded an EP and it's gonna be a RSD exclusive

 

The final piece to my mewithoutYou collectors’ edition..collection? I don’t know. That was another 12+ month preorder I can finally cross off the list.

 

1975 with an orchestra. That’s gonna be a hot one. Might have to wake up early for that.

 

I'd say still another month away. I havent done a RSD since 2012. Was so fun camping over night and being first in line, then my 30s hit me lol.

 

I've heard rumblings that RSD '23 may be giving Twenty One Pilots' MTV Unplugged set a physical release. Not confirmed, but the band never did anything with releasing it formally, so that's my hunch haha

I was really excited for that unplugged and it was...not good. at all.

I thought it was pretty cool how they built the songs live. What did you not like about the performance?

 

It has been so long since I have watched it but I remember feeling really disappointed that the songs weren't just stripped down versions using acoustics while literally staying...unplugged. If I recall, they still used a lot of electronics and instrumental tools and it just seemed like a huge missed opportunity.

Especially considering, throughout the years, some of the coolest moments of their live shows is when they are stripping songs down, Tyler playing solo at the piano or Tyler and Josh sitting around playing acoustics/ukulele. I guess I was moreso expecting that from their unplugged.

 

Ah ok, that's understandable. They were still very much plugged in for that

 

For sure, and that is where they lost me. Like, it literally wasn't an unplugged at all, haha. It was cool how they created the songs on the spot, but they could have just called it something differently and maybe my expectations would have been totally different.
