Here’s my holiday haul from my visit with the in-laws today! Can’t wait to read Punk Paradox!

 

I got the new remastered Beach Boys greatest hits comp and the Foo Fighters greatest hits.

Guess I will have to take on the responsibility of spurging on In The Zone by Britney Spears myself…

 

It honestly has been a minute since I've listened to this album!

 

Working on my first setup that isn't just my turntable into a soundbar. Right now considering going the pre-amp to powered speakers route. If I'm not looking to spend more than $200 is there really much difference in pre-amps? The ones I've seen recommended in this thread have all been solid state, but I've seen some tube pre-amps that look cool and have decent reviews. Anything specific I should be looking for at this price range?

 

Damn. That album, that variant, that platter, that turntable……whole picture is such eye candy.

Preamps don’t need to be pricey. I recommend the Art DJ Pre II. It normally runs $60-70. Check the powered speakers you are considering though, some have a phono input. The powered Kanto Yu6s do I think.

beautiful. i'm genuinely curious what this new pressing is gonna do for the resale market for this album (regarding official copies only). my OG Black Friday vinyl pressing from several years ago is still the most expensive record in my Discogs, so i wonder if the new pressing increases the resale price of the OG one or not, lol.

 

This one is already going for $300 online but gonna do a play through and see if what everyone is saying, that this pressing sounds wayyyyy better than the OG, is true.

 

ooh, lemme know. obviously i'll never be able to get my hands on one (although i've never had a problem with the quality on my pressing), but i'm glad other people get to experience this via an official pressing.

 

Just ordered one of my white whales. Speak by Body English. It was $65 but I asked them to knock it down to $35 and they did. Woop woop!

 

how justifiable is spending $14 on shipping for a $22 EP that doesn't release on vinyl until April (Permanent.Radiant by Crosses)? it's a limited variant, so i'm tempted, but that shipping price is godawful.

 

Welp got the ol' bag treatment from Amazon. Won't be doing that again.

 

I’ve never gotten a bagged vinyl from Amazon. That’s crazy.

 

Happened with Jimmy’s Integrity Blues for me. But I did notice it was through a third party, despite not saying so when I bought it.

 

Funny enough it was Bleed American. I guess it's my fault for not already having it.

Weird. The only time I ever got a plastic bag shipment from Amazon was for Chase This Light. I guess they just hate Jimmy Eat World.

 

Yeah, it sounds incredible. Played the OG first then the new press and it’s better imo

 

I’ve received records in bags from Amazon and have also received just the record with shipping labels placed directly on the record shrink wrapping, no mailer of any sort. Amazon is a total crapshoot for me.
