That's right around when i was starting to get into it and i really stumbled on some great deals those first few years collecting.

 

My then GF, now wife bought me a record player and NOFX's Heavy Petting Zoo, and a Johnny Cash Greatest Hits record in 2004.

Going from digging through the used record section at Amoeba along with the rare new album release on vinyl at that time, to what it has become now is crazy.

 

my first record was Yellowcard's Southern Air on transparent green back in 2012. back then i was still mostly buying way too many CD's

and then my second was The Swellers Running Out of Places to Go. starting a habit that would had an irreversible effect on my bank account...

I think the last CD I ever bought was Manchester Orchestra’s COPE in 2013. I probably have more than 750 CDs boxed up in my basement.

Someone on the VC board offered to wheel off the OBI for Dead Poetic if he was able to get it at FF. He did and I won the copy. A friend of mine snagged me a preorder for Embodyment. Just need to score a preorder for LIYW.

I'm a big fan of some of the deeper cut albums on T&N/Solid State.

 

if you're able to snag Dead Poetic and i'm not, i'd happily send you the dough for it

 

Haha no I preordered it! I won the OBI strip back in September which had a unique QR code that allowed you to preorder the album. I just threw the guy I won the OBI from some money so he could ship me the OBI haha.

I'm only gunning for a copy of Life in Your Way.

Would love that Life In Your Way album, but "far less than 100 copies" does not sound too promising.

 

I heard all the OBI's for LIYW were all given out during FF weekend. But I guess not everyone decided to go ahead and order a copy.

Damn. Had Life In Your Way in my cart, hit pay now, and then it said "sold out". Ugh. Hopefully there's a repress at some point.

 

Ugh they had the albums at the end of the vinyl page and not page 1 ughhhhbb

 

that's exactly what happened to me with the Dead Poetic one. dammit!

 

That was something I noticed too. The vinyl page defaults to sort by "Featured". I sorted by "Newest" after a little bit, but I guess it was too late by then. Definitely disappointing.

 

Yeah I kept refreshing I noticed the numbers went up by 3 on the vinyl page then noticed it dropped by two. That's when I clicked page 3. Ugh

 

Go now they're up!!

I just got out for lunch and rechecked and they're right there!
