"Them" is my favorite King Diamond album!

 

It’s so ridiculous and amazing all at the same time. It’s the only KD album I’ve checked out, but I imagine the others are probably similar? Are they all concept albums?

 

I know a lot of them are concept albums. "Conspiracy" which comes after "Them," is a continuation of the House of Amon story line. Also a really solid album.

was at vintage vinyl last week in st louis and found those ETID and mike shinoda albums. bought the okilly dokilly album at the show and the band signed it after their set.

my fav record store in Pittsburgh did something I’ve wanted record stores to do for years - serve coffee. Why don’t more do this? It seems like such an obvious enhancement

 

Yeah, this is a no-brainer. Going to have to check this store out next time I'm back home.

 

Today’s pickups

 

The record store near me added a coffee shop a little while ago.. for some reason, the coffee shop didn’t last a whole year I don’t believe. It’s a pretty crowded/notable record store too, so I think there was a lot of potential traffic. I guess less people want to drink coffee and browse records than we think. But it does seem like a grand slam to me.

 

Ash is reissuing 1977 and Free All Angels on vinyl this summer. Free All Angels was a formative record for me, thanks for posting this! It’s a perfect power pop album.

 

Can’t get enough of this record. Picked it up at Shake It today

 

Help! I have had this Sony record player since 2014. It’s worked like a charm ever since but in the last week, all of a sudden when I hit the Start button the Tone Arm brings over the needle, drops it onto the record then lifts back up and goes back to its natural place. It’s done this about a dozen times over the past week but then will randomly work just fine.

Any idea what could cause this or how I can fix it?

 

Put a nickel or a quarter on the needle cartridge part and see if it continues to do it or not. It may just be a weighting issue. I had a player that did the same thing. Eventually I could get it to work after a few tries until I couldn’t anymore. So then I upgraded to one that doesn’t have the automatic arm, which is kind of a bummer. Cuz now I can’t listen to records when I go to bed.

 

Perhaps I’m really stupid, but what do you mean by this?

 

I’m probably the stupid one. I mean this part. I’d start with a penny or a nickel first so you can find the weight it actually needs. And maybe roll up scotch tape under the coin so it doesn’t fall off.
