Definitely most interested in that Sara Bareilles album (though, I wish the album getting the re-release was Kaleidoscope Heart).

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

    Childish Gambino
    Tegan & Sara

and that’s it for me lol

  5. Soundtrack to Big Night is a cool one for RSD, but that's a really underwhelming list.

Plenty on here that I'd accept with a smile but never pay for.

the only two wants from that rsd list is the kirk hammett solo ep, and the greatest hits from the offspring.

Managed to get a copy of the Definitive Edition of The Fragile for retail price today. Cannot wait to see the Definitive Editions if some of their other albums (hopefully Year Zero next).

Usually on the RSD release list it tells you how many of each are being pressed but I don’t see that this year? It helps me figure out how early I need to get there/ if I have to wait in line haha I definitely want that So Jealous Tegan and Sara pressing

The amount being pressed ranges from way too many to way too little on this list. Only 2800 of Sara Bareilles has me a little nervous about finding one. 7000 of Mariah seems just right. But 18,000 for Childish Gambino's EP just seems like a ridiculous amount haha

    agreed.
whatever amount that blue repress of linkin park's meteora was last year was obviously too little.

I'm glad they are pressing nearly 20,000 of Childish Gambino's Kauai. Shouldn't have to fret if I don't make it to the store on RSD or not. Should be plenty of leftovers going up online afterwards.

I’ve got a couple target exclusives of popular releases from the last few years. Still deciding if I’m gonna pull the trigger. I can’t keep up with the spending I e done the last few months.

The store I always go to does a whole day for RSD. Local acts performing outside. Food and drink vendors pre-COVID. DJ sets. A fun time.

Stores could still host that fun stuff on a "symbolic" RSD globally but the big push for purchase would just be buying what artists were able to release more on schedule with RSD orders getting out of line in the pressing plants for one year.

Feeling good about this idea. Gonna write my senator about this. Who's with me?!

I also wish people would use RSD to support actual local businesses. Here in NYC, Rough Trade would have massive lines that stretch 3 city blocks, where as a local record shop just 10 blocks away you could just stroll right in.

  21. Move to the Midwest haha all we have is small shops struggling to survive

I have not been to Rough Trade since they relocated and I have no regrets about it.

I’ve only been once, but I’m heading back there next weekend to pick up my Dashboard pre order.
the new store is a real bummer compared to the BK shop. It’s like a quarter of the size too.

The one benefit is that I can now walk there, but I prefer just going to Rock & Soul on 33rd
