I had 3 in my cart the morning it was pressed and opted to wait. Biggest mistake.

I’m also opting out of these Taylor Version presses because if I buy one I’ll be on the hook for all of them and I can’t justify that.

I’m trying to be more judicious when selecting what records to buy. I used just preorder any and all records from any band I liked, trying to hold out a little more to see if the singles or album sticks.

 

Same Don't know what to do with it so I'm going to continue sitting on it.

 

Anyone know if I See Stars will have "End of the World Party" repressed? They pressed it in the boxset, but Sumerian just threw out some represses last week which did not include that. Looking to sell my boxset if they do end up repressing it

 

Anyone have experience with trying to “repair” warped vinyl? I’ve seen some stuff online about putting it in the oven between two hard surfaces but that seems pretty risky haha

Lol I've actually done the stack of books trick and it worked. You have to keep them on there for like 3 days though.

I've seen people mention the oven trick but no way would I try that

 

So, my record player is dying a slow death currently, I'm considering a Uturn. Does anyone in here have any opinions/tips on the way you change the speed of them though? The few times I've used a friends it's been sort of a huge hassle to change the speed.

 

It’s kind of annoying (it almost always slips off when I do it) but it’s not a huge hassle or anything. Definitely not ideal though. I’ve heard it stretches out too much for some people and you have to put it in the freezer or something, but I haven’t experienced that so I can’t say much.

 

You get used to it. A bulk of my collection is 33rpm so it's somewhat rare to have to switch it, depends how often you're listening to vinyl I guess. The bands do stretch, but throwing them in the freezer seems to help if there's an issue developing. Band and speed adjustment aside, the table looks and performs great. Never in five years have I wished I didn't get it for what that's worth.

 

Good to know, I appreciate the honest feedback, out of the 230 records or so that I currently own I'd say maybe 30-40 are 45rpm, so it's not a huge percent of my records; but I do play records daily.

 

I'll add that this also reflects my experience. I'm very careful with the band and haven't had any major issues yet - it just takes getting the hang of it. I also have a couple extra bands that I purchased ahead of time - their support team is great, by the way! I'm a huge fan of this turntable and fully recommend it.

 

My lady’s best friend’s parents are cleaning out their attic and basement. They know I listen to vinyl so they catalogued everything for me to go through and make some picks. Holy shit…

Really going to try to limit my preorders to just a few for the rest of the year.

 

As stated previously, I’ve lost track of all pre-orders and things just show up now unannounced.

 

My Turnstile and Prada Zombie 2 pre orders is on the way

 

Have Taylor Swift and Manchester Orchestra pre orders left.

 

It took a lot of will power but I stopped pre ordering a couple of months ago, and not surprisingly my recent credit card statements have been much lighter lol. Really hoping I can go another month or two without any impulse orders.
As of now I'm waiting on Halsey, Fearless TV and AVA to come.

Been seeing this trend of $39.99 for a 2LP. This is ridiculous. I remember $28 being the going rate for the longest time. When did this jump happen? I honestly will probably skip out on any preorder that's $30+ unless it comes signed or with a poster or some other goodies.

 

The vinyl industry is p fucked now…I imagine it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

 

I'd say I personally would boycott it, but with how fast money sprinted from my wallet when Underoath and Angels & Airwaves preorders went live, I know there's no chance, ha.
