I finally was able to get a copy of Gaga and the Haim/Taylor 7”. A couple of the stores outside of Phoenix evidently didn’t get much demand for them. Had full stacks of both at 3pm.

I’m genuinely surprised that MOST places sold out of stuff so quickly. So many records got 10k+ pressings.

Damn I might have to call around to some shops this week to see if they still have the Haim 7". A decent number were pressed (4,500), so I'm surprised that they sold out so quickly.

I think I was bugging my friends by flooding their feeds with vinyl posts, so I ended up making a separate account for my collection. This Alkaline Trio record looks sooo nice, Im so glad I ended up snagging it yesterday

evanescence - 'fallen' (target silver variant)
    acceptance - 'phantoms' (blue variant)
spiritbox - 'eternal blue' (indie store blue variant)

Was able to order a few RSD releases online, including the one I wanted the most (Thrice). Also got in a handful this week from a couple of users here.

    Thanks for this one @Micah511

I'm a little sad with all of these preorders taking so long nowadays. By the time I get the record in, I've already listened to it on Apple Music a ton of times to the point where I just put the record on the shelf. It will eventually get played, but nothing compares to a: release day, slit open the shrink, drop the needle, and enjoy on the day it comes out (or close to it).

That’s just where we’re at. And will probably be at for awhile.

i truly don’t understand why this isn’t an industry that one of the idiot billionaires hasn’t decided to dive into.

You’ll recoup your machine investment in the first six months running 24/7, and then just print money for at least the next five years and maybe beyond.

New presses are now being manufactured, so it can be done. It’s obviously not this easy, but money makes things a lot easiER.

most billionaires didn't become billionaires doing stuff as dumb as sinking money into dying industries

no, but they did become billionaires by taking advantage of certain situations and bottlenecked industries.

A ‘dying industry’ that won’t be dead for maybe another decade.

until then, you can literally print plastic slabs of money.

Hate I missed out on Meteora. Also, I was way late on The Fall of Troy - Doppelgänger and will regret that for some time.

    I don't think it's that easy:

Would assume the initial investment would be quite high + transportation costs, machinery, labor/etc/etc.

I don't know if it is as low hanging fruit as we think

it’s absolutely not that easy, but when you see a company like QRP, with lower resources than most start ups, grow to be the best pressing plant in the business within five years of it’s founding (entirely during the vinyl boom), that has to be pretty encouraging to anyone WITH resources to want to at least look into investing.

‘if they can do it, so can we’.
