    I need the pink.

I got the white tour press too, so I can finish it out once I get lucky with the pink.

This is my set up, shelving is still barebones, and I've still got a few things to mess around with, but it sounds great. Subwoofer brings the bass on TDAG to life. Love it.

    Are those 12" or 7"'s?

    If they're 12, that's a cool little set up!

The TV spot is the only issue. If you can adjust those shelves down, then it'd be pretty sweet!

    Yup. They are 12"s.

This entertainment center is 75" x 73" (grabbed it for $50 off of a Facebook buy/sell/trade) and everything at the level of the TV spot is wiithin my toddler daughter's reach, and my wife is pregnant with a baby boy due in late July.

Everything is sitting near the top because that's where it's safe. Haha. Not optimal, but it'll have to do for now.

    Fair! Haha

Last thing you want is an injured daughter, and broken stuff on top of that.

She can reach the subwoofer bottons, which I learned because casually walked over and cranked up the bass. She loved it.

I'll make a Brand New fan out of her yet.

She might be even be old enough to relate to their lyrics by the time the release LP5.

Loving this way more than I thought I would.

Edit: It's taking a lot of training for me to hand the tone arm correctly. I know how, but I'm so quick to just grab the arm off of the record manually, and if I pick up up wrong it fumbles in my hand for a second. I accidentally touched the needle a few minutes ago and now I'm stressed I messed it up, but can't test it for a while.

    TL;DR
    I'm a noob.

This is why I'm always hesitant to buy "high-end" stuff. I want to be able to just listen to my records. I want my daughter to be able to listen to records. Having nice stuff just ends up making the whole process very stressful for me.

It looks like there's a cueing lever but I can't see it that well. Are you using that?
Sometimes, depending on the anti-skate settings of the unit, the tonearm may drift back away from the center label when dropping. Something to watch for... You'll get the hang of it!

I am using it, when I remember. I think the tone arm is weighted as close to perfect as one can expect from a newbie like me.

Just a lot of small touches in how to handle everything that I need to learn and make a habit of following.

Also, so easy to forget when a side of the record ends. My ears don't register right away that the music stopped, so I get that noise before I realize I need to flip the record over.

I'm with you on this. My last record player was stolen so I'm still saving up for a new one. However, if you have a bunch of really expensive records, you need to have an adequate turn table that can play those records without damaging them.

By the way that blue copy of Beggars looks really nice. I have a black copy.

Love that song! Agreed. I thought it was called One Last Regret?

Love my blue copy. Bought it very early in my record buying, so didn't really understand anything back then.

I'm keeping everything out of my daughters reach. I'm more likely to screw something up myself than her getting into anything.

This is also something that's pretty common sense for everyone in here, but having not been playing my records for so long, I didn't realize that a 12" record could be either 33 rpm or 45 rpm.

After playing TDAG and Beggars today, I tried to throw on Carry the Fire and it played in slow-mo. I was like, "What? I'm such a dummy."

    Nope. Very Invisible.

maybe you're thinking of a bonus track for another album?

Ah, you're right! I misread your first post. Thought you said hidden track. That's something I miss about CDs. Can't rewind track one on a vinyl and find this:

haha. I actually completely forgot about the pre-gap track. I used to listen to it all the time in my car when it first came and out and I still listened to CDs.

The static charge on my Relient K record was a lot more noticeable than any other record I've played so far. Is it the material it's pressed from?
