Now Now preorders are up!

 

I just caved and bought both std. black 180g Old Crows/Young Cardinals & Crisis by Alexisonfire as an early birthday present to myself. I've been wanting both, especailly OC/YC for a long time so I'm pumped.

I'm still waiting on four or so other things to ship/arrive within the next few weeks, all if which I have zero space for so looks like I'm gonna need some new storage soon!

 

This is the first time in like a year that I have nothing on pre-order. The determination is real.

Recently got Basement's Promise Everything & Modern Baseball's Holy Ghost

 

Our Last Night just put up 3 releases. They’re overpriced but still less expensive than what you’ll find Oak Island for currently.

 

I have a Sony turntable that’s been reliable for the past ten years but after getting into a discussion about quality players, I’m thinking I should upgrade. I don’t want to spend a fortune but what do you recommend? I’ve seen pro-ject debut carbon and AudioTechnica thrown around.

 

If debut carbon is in your budget get that. Especially if it has the ortofon red cartridge

 

I also have a debut Carbon and it’s abaikireky worth the price. They go on sale on amazon every now and then.

 

I’m in the exact same predicament. I have a pretty cheap Sony turntable, but I want to upgrade as well. Definitely want to get a setup that will do the records justice. So probably need to invest to some better speakers and receiver as well?

 

get your speakers and receiver vintage and used off craiglist and local swap and shops if you can. just google whatever models you see for sale and read what people have wrote on audiokarma and other audio/phile forums to make sure what you're looking at is worth it. i got two vintage floor speakers and a receiver for ~$160

 

picked up perfect pitch black by cave in yesterday after the news that caleb passed, along with a mastodon picture disk


unrelated but does anyone in here subscribe to VMP? any general thoughts on it?

 

I did a 3 month VMP sub when they announced a ROTM I wanted. The 3 month includes being able to swap, so it ended up being worth it for me. You could always just do that and see if you want to continue.

 

yep, that's what i just did. love the ROTM for april, so it was a no-brainer.

 

It's nice to finally own Demon Days on vinyl without having to splurge for the VMP version.

I just gotta say, The Wonder Years photobook is super cool to read through while spinning the record and it compliments the feel of the music perfectly. Probably my favorite packaging if any "deluxe" records I own.

 

They don’t have a super great selection, but hot topic has a buy one, get one for $1 going for some of their vinyl right now. I just got ATL’s Don’t Panic and BMTH’s Suicide Season for $12.99.
