Im looking to get Brian Fallon's Georgia and the Twenty One Pilots release. I'll probably grab a bunch of non-RSD titles as well though.

Same. The Regina Spektor stuff would be cool. Also into the All American Rejects - Move Along pressing.

I may be going broke, but I'm never broken down. Prestigious

So since you asked, I figured fuck it, I'll go through and see what I can figure out. Tracked down what I paid for about 3/4 of the LTJ records, averaged it out and extrapolated for the entire collection. Ballpark it's $3200

And that does not take in to account the side project stuff that they have lol.

If I ever have kids, they're going to inherent quite the record collection. And they better appreciate it haha.

honestly this was one of the reasons i decided to get into vinyl. started thinking about passing on my music collection to my kids one day and realized how lame it would be to hand them a flash drive or a spotify login.

as for RSD- I'm looking for the Across The Universe soundtrack, mewithoutYou Ten Stories, and maybe Frank Turner Positive Songs acoustic.

Agreed! Plus I want my kids to think I was this huge punk rock show rat. Just cuz.

Do you know if there's anything special about that Ten Stories press? Record has been pretty available at most stores I've been to in the last few years.

RSD-wise I will be happy if I can just snag a copy of Appleseed Cast's 10th Anniversary edition of Peregrine.
I feel like that's the only must-have for me.

this is what i saw and was intrigued.

"Mewithoutyou’s full length album, Ten Stories, is getting a reissue as part of Record Store Day 2016. The Run For Cover-released package will feature “expanded packaging” by Charlie Wagers and music will be on “clear vinyl with a red, yellow and orange random splatter pattern.” This is limited to 1,000 copies."

Not familiar with these products... However, when it comes to vinyl listening/playing, in my experience, you get what you pay for. Also, you say "(for now)" do you think you're going to get an itch to upgrade the pre-amp in another year or so anyway? If so... Might as well lay down some more cash now and have one less thing to upgrade, spending more money down the road.

I didn't even realize until last week, in this thread, that is need a pre-amp for the Debut Carbon. This process is all new to me.

Just realized there's a little record store across from the five guys I go to, so I stopped in and picked up Modest Mouse's Interstate 8

    Yeah, you'll need a pre-amp.
Additionally, if you're going to pick up one of the two models you linked to you'll need POWERED speakers. Unless you have a pre-amp going into a receiver, your speakers will need to have a volume knob on them to amplify the signal from the pre-amp to be at listening level.

EDIT: In case I'm explaining this terribly check this picture out.
These are your two options with the Pro-Ject TT

I sure got in over my head with all of this. I already bought the Debut Carbon for $260, will be here next Tuesday. Some friends are giving me a set of Sony speakers that've been sitting in their garage for a while. Don't know yet if they're powered.

I don't have a receiver. The only home electronics I own are my TV and gaming stuff.

I really am starting from scratch with all of this.

In case you haven't seen it, below is info direct from Graveface's FB about how to secure a copy:

"For those who “pre-ordered” PEREGRINE by The Appleseed Cast (official page) via our Kickstarter 82 years ago, this is your exclusive variant: bone w/ smoke wispies (A/B) & clear black w/ smoke wispies (C/D). I appreciate your support and patience. All the Kickstarter copies were just picked up by USPS 5 mins ago. This variant is limited to 230 copies and we’ll have about 75 leftover which will go on sale sometime next week. Join the mailing list to be warned first (Graveface Records Contact Info). In addition to this variant there’s an RSD variant that indie-shops will have next Sat (16th). We made 500 extras for those that don’t live anywhere near a record shop or in a country that doesn’t do RSD. Those will be for sale at graveface.com around 10pm on the 16th. The objective is to keep this title in print so everyone will have a chance to get one at some point. Holler if you have any questions! xoxo"

Anything by Charlie Wagers is a big thumbs up. Still waiting for all that legal stuff to clear up so we can get that Catch us for the Foxes reissue.

Audiophile versions of Enema of the State and Dude Ranch. I didn't pick up the splatter versions when they were originally released, so I had to jump on these.
