Picked up these bad boys yesterday at the record store.

 

No idea if this is a good turntable, but it's listed as $350 msrp and going at $140

Sadly the shelf won't fit records

 

You can at least fit 45s in there.

I could stack my records on the bottom but I want them vertical

 

Can't find any good 7"s? I have close to 50 I think.

Yeah, DON'T stack them horizontally. Best way to warp your records.

 

I have like three 7"s only because they came with a record. Not too into them

 

late to the party, here's my Discogs.

 

So my copy of Diary is super warped but otherwise plays fine. Do you think its worth trying to return it to the store? I either threw out or told them I didn't need a receipt.

 

Definitely think its worth trying to return it. When I bought SDRE's LP2 in a record store one of the records was really warped. I brought it back and they gave me a new one. But I'm sure that depends on the store.

 

my local store has The Killers Day & Age for $150 and it takes everything i have not to go buy it

 

When you guys are saying "warped" you just mean like... When you watch it spin it looks really wavy?

 

that being their worst record one would think was enough to discourage from buying it, let alone for $150 actual dollars

 

that being said, i still fuck with A Dustland Fairytale

 

It's not flat. So much so that it causes it to skip a bunch on the first song or two.

 

HMV has bumped their sale up to 25%-50% off everything. I'll go check my local store out at lunch and report back!

 

Do you have a picture you could upload by chance?

What turntable do you have? If it's only very slightly warped, it could be skipping if your table doesn't have adjustable vertical or horizontal tracking force or isn't set properly. You could get a turntable weight off amazon if it's not too bad.

If it is badly warped, you can try laying the record horizontally between two equally sized large and heavy books for a few days. People have also put their records between two glass sheets, set their oven to preheat only, and let it warm up for about 30 minutes and then let it cool back down, but i do not recommend doing that unless it's a record that can easily be replaced or you don't care about and just want to give it a shot.

 

The store already said I could exchange it.

It's pretty pronounced though where it is warped. I wouldn't care if I hadn't bought a sealed brand new copy.

 

That oven technique stresses me out just thinking about it.

Got the Weeknd's Starboy the other day. Barnes and Noble didn't have it so I got the urban outfitters exclusive color. Theirs isn't 180g... same price as the 180g though. Disappointing, I don't know why I thought going to UO would have been a good idea.

 

UO is only good if you're looking to take advantage of a sale. I believe that is how I got a copy of Vheissu last year.

 

What was their exclusive color? I got red from bull moose. Didn't realize the retail version was 180g either.

 

It's yellow. It's close to the yellow lettering of Starboy on the cover. Still sounds good but for the price a little disappointing.

 

Yeah mine just sounds alright, too.
