Replaying RDR2. The Guarma chapter is so interesting and different than anything else in the game, but it sucks how restrictive it is and how little time you get to actually explore the island.

We are really close to being able to recreate that really bleak scene in Blade Runner 2049 where K's sole companion for emotional support is re-presented to him as a soulless corporate marketing tactic.

 

Finally started Metaphor after a shit week. I just met a woman that looks cool af and kinda looks like an anime Storm. Just got me thinking how cool it would be for a Persona like game set in and around the X-Mansion as a student.

 

I remember interviews with Neil where he said they wanted to end Part 1 in such a way that if there was never a sequel, it’d still be an effective/memorable ending so I’m not sure that they planned on a sequel at first.

I will say that now, with the success of the show and the games, that Part 3 feels inevitable

 

I already forget the name, but I’m so stoked the space game they announced is their next project. I can wait for Part 3. I love space shit, which is probably why I view Starfield more favorably than most. lol

 

I have come full circle on the PS Portal since it’s release, what a nice little device. it really is a ‘portal’ and I did not know you could start a download from it.

 

I think for the first time in 20 years I failed a quick time event today. lol

i've reached the point in The Ascent where I have way too much money. i've already purchased every augmentation and tactical available. I could buy more weapons but upgrading them requires another more limited resource so i only hold onto a handful.

also i've completed every side quest. i should've probably lead with that. i probably have only a couple more main missions left. then the dlc i suppose.

I'm excited to see more Clair Obscur, I remember that looking interesting to me

 

Yeah as much as I'd like to have seen another MS first party game at their direct, Clair Obscur looks to be a fantastic game and maybe we'll get a release date!

TLOU Part 2 spoilers

Got to the Abby/Joel scene last night and it was just god damn brilliant and harrowing. Just perfectly done. I find myself not feeling that bad for Joel? He just crossed so many people in such awful ways it was inevitable. So fucking locked in for this game.

 

I can't wait to read the rest of your impressions. I had it in my backlog for the longest time but had gotten spoiled in release so I just put it back further, but when I got my PS5 I decided to try it.

Felt like I needed many a cigarette breaks after MANY points in the game. Truly a masterpiece, and fuck the haters I feel it's easily one of the highest points of gaming.

 

Yeah the peaks of this so far are hitting me hard and just staying with me throughout the day when i'm not playing and I love that. I haven't had a game do that in a long time. Prob since Trails in the Sky or the first Cold Steel.

 

Yeah like don't get me wrong, TLOU1 is a GREAT game but 2 emotionally rips your heart out, kicks you down a set of stairs, throws your body into a fire the strength of a thousand suns......but it feels soooo good and absolutely grips you, right to the very end.

It's the game I didnt know I needed, the game that I didn't know how much it would impact me. Like you, my top games are JRPGs due to their story but TLOU2 is the outlier sitting up there right alongside them.
