And here I am hoping Sony would just put out cool games but okay.

The latest posts just suggest what I’m saying. Like Until Dawn is a cult classic at best but you got Sony dumping resources into a movie that will likely than new or interesting game ideas and I think that’s not how you maintain a brand.

Fun fact, I had to see the original Butterfly Effect for my birthday because my dad wanted to watch a sci-fi movie. It was meh but I definitely nerded out at the scenes of Se7en shown.

 

To play devil's advocate, it's not like the resources for the film are being taken away from their gaming department.

Not making this film does not translate into being able to make more games, but if this film does well and brings attention to the game, that can only help Supermassive, can't it?

Yeah I highly doubt Sony Pictures and PlayStation share the same budget. Also none of the developers are going to be working on this.

 

Here, honey, let me explain it: You got a company making a movie on a property that is cult at best and you just put a remaster of it that was crazy unnecessary and people responded accordingly. You made a VR game about it that no one gave a shit about and I would’ve forgotten about it if it wasn’t a PS Plus monthly title. It’s a waste of resources and considering how AWOL Sony has been with their gaming division lately, it’s a bad look too. For the capstone, why would I watch a UD movie? I have taste and I’m old, I’m not gonna watch all the horror crap in the world so why would I make an exception for something I already played, been there and done that?

Well, they're saying it's an original story, but if you don't want that, that's fine, others might.

Kind of like how I plan to buy the game on PC now that it's out since I don't own a PlayStation. See how I'm a different audience that Sony is catering to?

I'm still confused on the "waste of resources" part. Are you mad they're not putting those resources towards a different movie? Cause I promise you, they won't be going to a game.
