I’ve been wanting to go back to LA Noir a lot lately, I don’t remember much of it.

Ripped through Tomb Raider 2013 and it was even better than I remember. Taking a little break before starting Rise because I picked up Black Ops 6 as a bday present to myself and the multiplayer is SO much fun

For me that ending completely disregarded the themes of the story up to that point. It's an unbelievably well made game but I found its ending so jarring given what you're doing the rest of the game (trying to stay purposefully vague in case of spoilers).

I think the ending made sense. I don’t think another aspect of the game worked well, but I still enjoy it.

Made the mistake of searching up stuff about TLOU 2 online, can't believe so many people are still angry about the game? I had heard it was polarizing but some of the shit I am seeing is baffling.

  6. The Ascent is aggressively fine. Top down shooter like Darksiders Genesis and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris / Guardian of Light but instead of a linear series of levels it's a linear series of missions within a single interconnected map. Haven't really gone into the nitty gritty of character builds just yet but shotgun + rocket launcher has been fun enough. Story so far is pretty bare bones "corporations are bad!" and "slavery is bad!" The futuristic locations are gorgeous, though. Pretty city lights and neon signs. The alien races arent very fuckable but I mean this isn't a horny game like Mass Effect LOLOL...

I ended up with a free 4K 55 inch tv this weekend, a family member won it at their work holiday party and didn’t want it. Yay me! My first delve into the 4K world, so I think it’s time for me to finally bite and get a ps5 so I can take advantage. My question to those more familiar in this thread: should I bother with the extra $200 for the pro? What is the big selling point, will it be super noticeable to me?

If it helps, I’ve done most of my gaming the last couple years on a (4 year old now) pc with a 3080 and a 1440p monitor.

Imo, the pro is a waste of money, not that there aren't some improvements. $700 for a console seems nuts haha. I'm still blown away at how good my regular PS5 looks on my 55 inch OLED TV

Save the $200 to put towards the Switch 2, if you even want one that is.

Or just for games in general. You're looking at $70 games with the PS5, it's quite frustrating

What’s the refresh rate on that TV? If it’s 60 HZ, that’s not terrible and you’ll still get a lot out of it but after gaming with 120 HZ gaming, I can never go back. I definitely realized this playing on my old TV I gave my daughter helping her out on games, I’ve been too spoiled.

Yeah it’s only 60 Hz, and not OLED. Nothing special, but a pretty big upgrade from what I had in my living room lol. I had a 42 inch ancient early LCD tv, it was heavier than this new one.

Oh I know exactly where you’re coming from and I definitely understand, getting that first 4K TV is a world of difference alone.

Those old LCDs are fucking tanks. I still have a 42 inch Sony Bravia in my bed room from 2007 and it still works great. The thing has 8 TV inputs on it.. totally wild. But yeah, wayyy heavier than my 55 inch in the living room

    EDIT

Just checked the sticker on the back and this thing was a frigging display model at Circuit City and is still good lol
