It’s been a while but I remember some bonuses based on having less than 52 cards and only x amount of jokers

 

suit maxing and turning everything to like clubs with a club joker is beast mode. You can turn your flush odds into literally 50% lol

 

Yeah the joker I had was something like +1x multiplier for each empty joker slot and the other joker I had was a negative so I had a 5x multiplier. Pair that with the voucher that adds 1.5x for planet cards held in your consumable slots for the hand being played gave me a nice bonus.

Finished Death's Door! good stuff. only a few really annoying bosses and really confusing puzzles. as it's top-down instead of 2d the game had pretty minimal "platforming" but i adore the map design. also lovely art and soundtrack.

i think this is the only metroidvania i've played that doesn't have a map in the menu.

 

PS Portal adding cloud streaming is actually pretty huge.

 

Haven't had all that much interest or time for video games but I am putting my PhD applications on the backburner til next year, which frees up a good amount of time for me. Have been playing Picross 3D: Round 2 and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux on my 3DS. Just beat the first boss in the latter, this game is hard!

 

Picriss is SO good. Strange Journey is so good too!

 

I saw Flight Sim was only 11gb on Xbox and immediately said nope. Knew it was gonna be nonsense. I'll stick with Flight Sim 2020.

Less storage is usually awesome but the moment I saw it taking up less space than Mass Effect 2 on an Xbox 360, there's just no way that's a good thing for this kind of game. lol

it IS weird how Sony and Microsoft buy studios and wreck them. I really hope if it happens it would somehow magically have zero effect on Froms structure or output.

 

Not to beat the dead horse but it's a byproduct of where we are in capitalism. It's absolutely not just in the video game industry, it's a whole thing for a company to buy a company, strip it dry, and blow it up (source: my work is doing this).

 

I will say that it is quite clear Sony isn't planning on stripping Kadokawa. They're doing this more for the anime and manga and From Software is a nice bonus. You can easily tell because of their acquisitions of Crunchyroll and Funimation.

 

Yeah I was moreso just speaking generally about shit, not about the idea of this acquisition in general, just that it's very commonplace especially right now
