Boo no SH2. I could honestly see any of them getting it except Wukong. Hoping for Rebirth.

 

They changed the rules this year.

 

DLC has had noms for other categories, but not GOTY. That said, they clarified over the weekend that DLC is eligible (likely to prepare folks that this was happening)

 

In a fair world Balatro wins easily

 

Silent Hill should’ve taken Black Myth’s place. That’s just personal preference for someone that hasn’t played either game, but would rather play Silent Hill. Lol

I feel like every game is depending on who you ask, but if I recall I saw people not liking the Chinese developers

 

Would not be surprised to see Erdtree winning GOTY

The roll out had some controversy, yes. The developer released in a statement about what could or could not be discussed during the reviews by influencers / gaming channels and it was ah, poorly worded. I don't know of anything beyond that.

I wanna say also that I keep hearing people criticize Wukong gameplay. It feels weird having people hype up a game when they say the worst part of the experience is playing it??? But what do I know

 

I hope Balatro or Metaphor wins

 

Wild that developers think they can tell streamers what not to say. What were they going to do if someone did talk about that stuff? Revoke the game license?

 

Feel like Astro Bot is gonna win

metaphor is probably my personal pick, but FF7 is close for me too

 

I’m fine with Shadow Of The Erdtree being nominated. I don’t think it should win but I think it should compete

DLCs in general I think are okay to compete as long as the DLCs themselves can offer what a standalone game does and Erdtree definitely does

 

Balatro is good, but not even close to game of the year worthy

 

feel like at this point i should just bite the bullet and get a used ps5 to play ff7r and stellar blade, because there's no way those are getting PC ports before my kid is born lol

 

Personally I want Astro Bot to win. We need more platformer representation as GOTY. Almost every year it’s an RPG or Action game

I can’t imagine the rule being changed to include DLC, just for Erdtree to not end up winning. I still hope for Metaphor but I actually haven’t played any of the nominees, so my opinion doesn’t mean much. Lol

 

Rebirth sucks IMO but I’m glad people love it

I tried hard and I just cannot enjoy it, my least favorite game I’ve touched this year
