I’m having a hard time not feeling like the game is treating me like a toddler. A lot of the writing is insanely bad and it’s all saved by the existing dragon age lore. That said the game is beautiful and the combat is a ton of fun.

 

Granted I feel like they’re doing a 180 with target audience and that’s fine, just not something I wanted.

 

This appeals to me as a huge fan of the entire series

I do have something that I vehemently hate about the game though, like non-jokingly: fuck those green barrels/vases. it is so gamey lol

and I did prefer the openness of Inquisition

 

jake your post made me revisit the skillup review and there's such a dichotomy between what he's saying and the footage he's showing. it feels like he's LARPing as this meme

lol I actually don’t like that part of it either it’s so weird the potion system in inquisition was fine

 

I also love how the character creator gives you infinite possibilities to make a character that is hot and/or interesting and skillup's guy looks like he listens to the pod jons on the way to his consulting job

 

he made human shrek because he thought his dreamworks comparison was killer lmao

 

last thing I’ll say about it but I also think it’s hilarious that his smoking gun on the combat being bad is that him and two people he knows lowered the difficulty just to get through it. I did that on final fantasy 7 rebirth a game he loved and like a wholllllllleeee lot of other games

 

Veilgaurd and The Cure. Based day

 

this game could use a card based mini game within it. I know that’s kind of a cliche for these types of games now but rebirth showed it’s still a fresh idea in the right hands

Just got a party member who is so heavily Karlach-coded, not mad about it at all tho she rules

 

Lucanis and Bellara were my front runners for most anticipated back when introduced in the podcast, we'll see how the rest do. They all had their time to shine but their VA did an exceptionally well job.

Awhile back I watched my wife play Cult of Lamb and she never went back to it. I started my own file and can’t stop playing.

 

definitely gonna play inquisition again after this and then two and origins. maybe try and do a write up of all four games as a whole by the end of the year. we’ll see
