yeah you read that wrong I think.

it's more like Sony asking devs to make a 60fps 4k mode (if possible) for games to get the PS5 Pro Enhanced tag. It's not automatically applied to older games.

Most games that are locked to 30 are usually CPU tied, which the pro doesn't really improve upon given the data we have right now.

 

"There is reportedly an "ultra boost" mode that helps out with framerates and resolutions. However, many unpatched games apparently won't see improvements with this mode, especially ones with fixed resolutions and graphical settings."

Ahhh I see. Well obviously you'd know the jargon more than I would so I trust that. OOPS lol. Oh well, I thought that would've been super cool. But yeah your original point stands, I never felt any need to upgrade from the 4 to the pro so now I don't see any need to get the 5 pro now tbh.

 

What’s frustrating ultimately about the Pro is that Sony wants you to shell out like $599 for marginal improvements in games instead of motivating devs to better optimize their games.

 

it's shit like Star Wars Outlaws having no baked lighting and only relying on raytracing, a technology that is barely supported by console chipsets, leading to some very sketch IQ.

 

My bad if this was already talked about a week ago, but does anyone have thoughts on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Trying to catch up on some new videos of it now.

 

I think it looks neat and I'm excited for it.
