that’s a wrap on xenoblade chronicles. very great experience, took me a long time for several reasons I started it a while ago but once I hit the halfway mark at prison island I simply couldn’t put it down. you’d never in a million years this game started its life on the wii and got a new 3DS port. the story was engaging and having played xenoblade 3 I picked up on a lot of parallels in the world building. the plot took some twists and turns and the end reveal really blew things wide open. my one complaint is the combat system is….yeah. I played a lot of the game on casual not because I wasn’t doing fine on normal because I was it was just a bit of a slog…casual sped up the gameplay more and I was actually well below the levels of the monsters I was facing usually so it wasn’t a total cakewalk. I just think going back and forth on your arts bar feels bad and not being able to control other characters unless you’re doing a chain attack makes it a bit boring and the way you level arts and have so many to pick from for certain characters and very few for others and again you only control the leader so it almost feels pointless picking out other party members arts outside of your leader so long as you set up at least one break, topple, and daze move down the line. another really bad system is the inventory/equipment which I understand was overhauled from the wii version but it’s still horrible imo. anyway those negatives are far outweighed by the lore, the characters, and the environments you move through. I did not do very many side quests, just not something I spend much time with in a lot of JRPGs especially ones with a main story that stretches 50+ hours on its own so I don’t have much to say there. Overall this game gets a 9/10 and the Sophos stamp of approval

Saw the movie yesterday and it’s truly a breath of fresh air in the MCU. Highly recommended.

 

Haven’t played Spelunky in about ten years but I have such fond memories of it that I decided to finally start Spelunky 2. The obsession is back and it is real.

 

I really enjoyed it too. Funny and dumb fun.
