Avowed and MGS are getting extended gameplay looks from Xbox tomorrow and Tuesday

 

I tried out the Enotria demo a bit today and I think I don't like it. It has a lot of promise but it just doesn't "feel good" to play which is the laziest way to criticize anything but hey that's not my job so idk.

 

I dunno about he gameplay, but I do really like the setting of South of Midnight. I like stuff that experiments with genre in a cool way. I don't even know what you'd call that genre, Southern Gothic? Southern Fantasy maybe? Reminds me of Beasts of the Southern Wild and Big Fish.

 

Player's Log: Snowman Story.

Complete, 100%. Breezed through it in like 3 hours. It's a really short but heartwarming story. The game portion of it, which involves puzzles where you're sliding on ice, literally only lasts maybe half the game before it just becomes all story bits, but that's fine, because the purpose was in the tale being told. You will believe a snowman can cry.

Anyway, now I'm doing Meg's Monster, which is the last game of Odencat I haven't played. I've heard it's a weird kind of RPG where your character, the monster, is invincible but the girl accompanying you cannot be hurt or she'll start crying and if she cries, the world will end. Kind of taking Yoshi's Island to its logical conclusion, I suppose.

I'm intrigued to see how it all plays out!

I'm currently trying to get through the intro of Wuthering Waves but all the fucking yapping.

 

Do you need really good internet to use game pass on steam deck? I dont really know if I want to buy an Xbox but I’d consider a deck

 

as in to stream? yeah.

Your best bet is to test it with a ps5 controller on your phone or laptop, the steam deck will perform exactly the same.

I couldn't do it, but I'm famously very sensitive to input lag.

 

Then I probably won’t do it lol. I had Game pass for a month and tried to play starfield with the backbone and it was terrible lol.

 

Lore and story wise yes gameplay wise no it’s tough because 1 and 2 are mechanically janky and haven’t held up at all and inquisition is the best action rpg of its generation but you miss out on a lot of background if you start there. however if you do start at inquisition and love it it makes the older mechanics of origins and 2 easier to swallow because the excitement of discovery and connecting dots overshadows it by a lot

 

The setting is very cool yeah

 

I’m watching the showcase man doom looks good as ever

Also had no idea Dragon Age was going to be released on PS5

 

Oh my god the veilguard looks fucking incredible alright first of all yes I’m the most biased dragon age fan it’s me but did you guys see this shit???? the aesthetics are fucking chefs kiss. inquisition was the first game in the series where the art direction caught up to the ambition of the story and I’ve been waiting to see what they do with Thedas now that it’s been established and I LOVE what I’m seeing here. I know cinematic trailers aren’t always going to be what the game actually looks like but that’s a beautiful looking trailer. Consider me fucking hype. I won’t be shutting about it until it comes out so be prepared

 

New Starfield stuff hits the spot, will be a good excuse to revisit that game

Although I am torn on if I want to buy it for PC or ps5. Based on how many times I’ve bought inquisition though (three about to be four because I want a physical ps3 copy for my collection) it won’t matter lmao
