It could have for sure been announced last week in a 5 minute video, but video game "insiders" are also to blame for making it into something it wasn't. They added unnecessary (and now incorrect) fuel to the fire.

 

The media and “fans” totally blew it out proportion. They did the right thing. It’s going to be fine. Time to go back to playing video games.

 

Hey, in the year or so that PS will have no big first party games, you can all play the Xbox games that Microsoft brings over. Positive twist!

 

My only thing is they let the "insiders" and fans take control of the narrative for so long these past couple of weeks while staying silent and letting the discourse fester.

When they could've just said lol nope, 4 games are coming, ABK games coming to GamePass and we're always looking into ways to innovate and change in the hardware space aka were NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

 

Glad people get to play Pentiment

 

It would be cool if they brought Halo Infinite to PS. Good MP and something to keep people busy.

 

I'll probably get grounded on switch because being shrunk and surviving attacks from insects sounds like a good time...if the port runs well on switch

 

That game will run on Switch fine. It’s fun.

 

The only lesson they’ll learn from this is “late ports don’t sell”, a lesson Sony already learned on PC.

 

I trust Microsoft to support their handheld market just like they did when they had the Zune and the Windows Phone.

 

Of the two I know people liked the zune

I can just imagine Phil being in a room being like "we need to be as innovative as Nintendo with our next hardware, maybe a handheld?"

Then Nintendo announces their new Switch Drone machine or whatever the hell it is and him going back to playing Sea of Thieves by himself.

Just release good games, Phil, and consistently. You don't need "the largest technological leap" if you don't support it with quality stuff.

 

Windows Phones seemed great (as someone that only ever used one briefly as a company phone when I worked for AT&T in 2014)

 

Out of town until tomorrow night so my gaming has hit a halt, but man Yakuza 8 fucking rules, 23 hours in and this is top to bottom the best playing game in the franchise, the story isn't quite as good as 7 but I imagine there are some slam dunk moments coming, so I can't complain too much.

I'm a proponent of the Lord's word please..

 

Beat Yakuza Kiwami 2 last night. Man what an ending. If there's one thing these games know how to do, it's nail an ending. The boss fights, the music, the drama. Having beat 0, 1 and now 2 it's interesting seeing how the games systems change from game to game. I kinda miss the different fighting styles from 0 and 1 though. 2 felt it was lacking in the fighting aspect.

 

I think 8 is 100% going to be my game of the year, I cannot see this being topped considering both the amount of fun I'm having and the timing of playing through it alongside personal things I can relate to

 

I wish Grounded would use Lethal Company’s SPIDER arachnophobia feature because a giant word coming at you in the grass would be horrifying but funny.

 

I just had my first semi-competent run in Noita and WOW this is a good game. Fucking really hard though.
