I'm still absolutely loving my Steam Deck OLED, best purchase in a hot minute. My wife now wants a Switch but I've said to wait for the rumoured Switch 2 announcement in March(?).

 

A good amount of 9 staff are in CBU3 who just did 16 and are now doing an “unknown project” alongside 14 (that is not 17 or a 16 sequel), so who knows

 

ff8 was my first console/controller rpg, nwn was my first pc/kbm rpg

 

Bloodstained is excellent, I need to get back and play that more for sure.

Also excited about the rumors about Hi-Fi Rush coming to Switch, that looked really good to me and seems like a great Switch game.

First one in a while, just a quick catchup.

Super Mario 3D World: Done, making it my final completed game of 2023. I still have some content to do—I'm missing about 20 Green Stars and 15 Stamps, and then World Crown—but I'm counting it as completed and putting it in my "come back to play DLC/endgame content" pile of games.

Bowser's Fury: Only played a bit of this so far but it's awesome. Love love love it.

Valkyrie Elysium: Beat chapters 1 & 2 and I am in love with this game. I have a soft spot for the series, Silmeria is in the running for my favorite game of all time, but the fact that Elysium is a different style of gameplay and isn't quite as epic had my expectations set to moderate when I started—I still figured I'd have a great time, just not that it would be masterpiece-level. But fighting the first real boss was insanely cool and now I'm 110% onboard. I still doubt it'll live up to Silmeria, but I'm really having a great time playing—like, daydreaming about when I'll be able to get back to it.

Tears of the Kingdom: Water Temple down. Gonna take some time to explore the Depths and catch up on a few side quests before I head back into the main storyline. Still a phenomenal game.

Those are the main games for now. I've still got playthroughs of Skyrim, Elden Ring, The Alliance Alive, Destiny 2, and Bloodstained that are all technically in my "active game" queue, but I've gotta draw the line somewhere haha. Also, I got Skyward Sword for Christmas, which I've never played, so that's going in the lineup as soon as I finish something underway.

Finally, big thanks to everyone who recommended PS+ games for me to check out before I pause my subscription. Despite everything I've said above, I've downloaded Rift Apart and Returnal and I'm going to try to play both in the coming weeks.

 

Dragons Dogma is so much fun. Just did a huge gryphon boss fight throughout a huge abandoned castle type structure and it was ridiculous.

I did get Xenoblade Chronicles X on WiiU on my PC and it runs GREAT

It's an interesting job alright. I'll give it a try, it looks fun.

 

I played 3 on PC. I was unhappy with the performance. I used ryujinx. however you can now pre-compile shaders via ryusak so it might be better

 

Favorite episode besides the season finale. Nick does a fantastic job.

Yeah i was setting up ryujinx last night and will prob take a look at it again today. I would deff like a better performing XC2.

Best? I’d go with Ocarina of Time. It’s not my favorite of 1998, but it’s the best of that year.

For me it's a tie between Zelda and MGS.

Parasite Eve, Banjo, and RE2 are honorable mentions.

Cannot possibly fathom someone looking at that list and choosing Tomb Raider III or Gex: Enter The Gecko.

 

I didn’t beat OoT until 2014 and I started it in 2007 lol
