So the only reason that immediately doesn't make sense and had 0 validity is because RPG is way to general. A blanket statement like that is ridiculous.

You could say something like turn-based RPGs or RPGs with random encounters, but to lump everything together just immediately shows your stupidity.

I have lost faith in the Fallout franchise so this is blah.

 

Just watched some Hyper Scape streams and it looks kinda bad.

 

$5 on the Fallout series focusing on the wasteland elements while intentionally skipping over the anti-capitalistic and American jingoism themes the series is known for.

 

I feel like it could go either way. With Nolan and Joy on board, I could see it actually tackling those themes.

 

Like Westworld proves that Nolan can make good TV that has these layers of themes and part of me has faith that he will. It’s just that those things are a very important part of what makes Fallout what it is and I will be truly disappointed if it ends up avoiding them and just ends being all “OMG COOL WASTELAND BRO, NUCLEAR BAD” about it.

Above all else, Fallout for me is about the choices you make and the long stretches where you just wander around accompanied by the radio. That won’t translate to television. That’s just me though.

 

Mandalorian gave me a little bit of those vibes in its better moments

 

That’s another good point. Like the Fallout games are playable pick-your-adventure books, having a linear storyline kinda diminishes what makes them fun.

It's the same problem inherent to any video game adaptation: the player's own input is a crucial part of the experience, especially when it comes to the kinds of games that give players agency over the narrative.

That said, I think a series has a way better chance of doing it will than a movie does. The Last of Us series on HBO, for example, will probably work out fairly well considering how linear that game is.

 

A Legend of Zelda series with the same production value as the LOTR trilogy. Someone needs to do it
