tbh I've spent the last few days just aimlessly wandering the Mojave looking for undiscovered locations to explore, not even doing side quests or anything, enjoying the open-world-ness of it all. I'm at the point just before the battle at the dam and I've been putting it off. Killed a lot of Deathclaws, because I'm finally at a point where I'm capable of doing so; acquired quite a few unique weapons, some more useful than others. After I restock on ammo and meds I think I'm mentally ready to continue with the story and then move on to the DLCs

I think I prefer Boston for the biome diversity and the Capital for the landmarks but one thing I prefer about New Vegas and 4 is that the faction conflict is central to the main story. With 3 the main quest kinda feels like its own thing, and even in Skyrim the civil war is independent from everything else. NCR vs Legion and Railroad vs Institute really up the stakes imo

what overwatch could have been will haunt me for the rest of my life. a game that was so omnipresent in culture now barely even an afterthought, and a game that was such an upbeat, fun casual experience for that first year now infested with some of the worst community in gaming

 

I keep getting reminded the uncharted movie exists and I’m just like whyv

i just wanna echo this because most people say their best gaming moments are on like call of duty and halo but mine were on overwatch. I had a work group that played and a friend group that played and I was playing it consistently. I even loved it enough to go support the overwatch league. It’s just a shame where the game is now.

Having never gotten into this game or its sequel, I'm intrigued by the prospect of a reboot and what it might bring to the table.

I also sort of love the idea that they wanted to originally make a sequel and then decided it was a bad idea because no one would give a fuck about it, so they're doing a reboot instead so people will start giving more fucks.

Actually, funny story about that. Apparently Pandemic is being or has been removed from all outlets currently. Some people thought it was because of Covid, which would've been weird, but the company who makes the game actually said they took it down because they intend to release a new updated version in the future to replace the current one, which they feel is outdated.

 

given that these are on 3 year cycles with each developer, makes sense
