It's so satisfying when you're trying to make a delivery and you have way too much stuff and your vehicle gets stuck halfway so you have to do the rest of the way on foot and it feels like you're def not gonna make it but then you finally do

 

this is where i think i'm at with it too. i'm all for weird sci-fi in theory but the frustration so far has never come from the package balancing act, it's come from trying to circumvent the terrible stealth system and from having my progress yanked back because i'm scanning for BTs either too much or not enough. i would also like to just vibe

This might be the pinnacle of linear single player gaming, up there with TLOU2.

Seeing Jormungandr for the first time in GoW was probably the highlight for me tbh

 

Finished Yakuza 3 Remastered last night

Next up: Yakuza 4 Remastered

 

I got up to Y5 and I've still stopped there tbh, I got really burnt out by 5 and it's apparently like the longest story out of all of them so I'm going back to it eventually. What did you think of Blockuza 3?

 

There is no doubt in my mind @Anthony_ will get through all of em.

 

Finally playing through Ghost of Tsushima, and it's absolutely incredible.

 

Yeah the combat in 3 was rough af, especially coming off of 0-Kiwami-Kiwami 2 being so much more modern. Especially Kiwami 2 for obvious reasons. The blocking got incredibly frustrating by the end.

I thought the story was mostly good, although it did do a bit of an enormous information dump in Chapters 9 & 10 which made the ending of the game feel kind of rushed. Chapters 9-12 went by so fast. It was definitely the shortest game so far, especially because it didn't have any business management stuff like the cabaret club or the real estate stuff. I liked how it ended though.

Looking forward to continuing.

 

I just bought Yakuza 0 since it's $5 and Get Played made it sound fun

 

The Yakuza games are all on GamePass right now but a bunch are leaving at the end of this month.

If you own a PS4/PS5, you can currently get a bundle of 0/Kiwami/Kiwami 2 for $15 and a bundle of the 3/4/5 Remasters for $20. Well worth it imo, that's a ton of fantastic content for $35.

 

If you havent already, turn the difficulty down. Makes it easier to just brute force past any stealth.

 

There was the hostess stuff but that was mostly filler and really painful to do. Yeah, the combat was definitely the worst out of all the games and the heat actions were so underwhelming with the damage they do. I can't remember too much about the story of 3 but it had one of the funniest villains I've ever played against and the orphanage sections were great

I forgot though, Yakuza 3-5 has revelations which are some of the funniest moments of the games

 

Yeah but the hostess stuff only got you any cash once you fully maxed out a new girl haha. So I didn't even bother with it beyond finishing the substory where you bring up the first one.

The early chapters were great too, it was great seeing that side of Kiryu really emphasized. I was shocked to learn people didn't like them at the time.

And yeah the heat actions were kinda bullshit. Like on normal enemies they felt like they did the standard amount of damage, on bosses they did barely anything even when you had a full meter.

I think you're talking about Kanda re: funniest villains, right?

Oh yeah that was funny as hell haha. the English voice acting was sooooooooooo laughably bad.

 

Yakuza 4 is great but don't expect anything to make any sense because it doesn't lmao. Akiyama needs his own game by the way, definitely the most fun of all the protagonists to play in the game

 

I'm kind of sad to not be playing as Kiryu the whole time but I've been enjoying the games so much that I can't wait to keep going anyway. Kiryu has become one of my favorite video game characters of all time (Majima too for that matter).
