Microsoft resorting to buying up huge sectors of the industry. Totally fine and won't end badly at all.

 

Extremely grim for the future of gaming to have a company that big controlled by one platform holder.

 

As expected, they're buying up a lot of major studios. I'm gonna miss having many third party IPs to enjoy. Fuck Microsoft.

 

Totally. Anyone with an interest in games, regardless of the console or platform they play on, should be dismayed by that deal.

Like with Bethesda, I have to wonder if this was Microsoft swooping in or if Activision was always going to be sold and it was just a matter of buyer.

 

There’s only one buyer with enough cash for this purchase, and it’s Microsoft. They definitely swooped in.

Also, I take back everything I said about them potentially putting their games on other platforms from back when they bought Bethesda. I truly didn’t grasp at the time just how malevolent of a force in the industry that Spencer planned to be. They’re definitely going to hold these franchises hostage to force people to buy Xbox. Clearly was their plan all along. The monopoly needs to deprive all other competitors to achieve its goals.

I don’t think I’ve played an Activisioon game in years. But it will be cool to see all first party games come to GamePass.
