I don't have a personal opinion on this horse race, but I don't know if I'd call it ignorant to think that something is better than the things that influenced it.

 

I mean lets be objective here, is any medieval fantasy action RPG ever gonna surpass Skyrim or The Witcher 3? I'd like to think it's not a case of nostalgia goggles when I point out how unlikely it is those will ever be improved on (ok maybe Elden Ring, but so far it looks like nothing more than a generically open world Souls game tbh, same ol same ol).

 

Personally I think BotW is better than Skyrim. I’ve never played a Witcher or souls game, though.

 

The Witcher 3 and especially Skyrim have some very obvious areas with plenty of room for improvement.

also I genuinely don't see how Dark Souls inspired BotW.

 

BOTW was good tbh. That’s about it

iirc at one point in the main story for Fallout 4 you had to choose either the Railroad or the Institute before continuing, and that decision made the main story better than any other Fallout or Elder Scrolls game imo (I'm talking specifically main storyline; stuff like Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood and Dawnguard questlines are still great). To actually get back to the point, yes, Skyrim does have a lot of stuff that can be improved upon. Some playthroughs I finished each guild quest line before doing the main quest

 

red dead also has a 97 and I think it’s bad lol.

 

Make a game that's fun to play and it's already better than Skyrim.

 

I think Bloodborne is the best game of the last decade but I can absolutely see why so many people picked BOTW even if it's not what I personally want out of a Zelda game. It takes a lot of influence from other games and either improves the formula or innovates in interesting ways.

 

It's Bloodborne, BotW and Alyx for me.

but if I had to pick one it's Al.. Botw.

 

sucks hardly anyones played Alyx

 

I play only games that have a 90 or better based upon Metacritc

 

Metacritic is somehow worse than using Pitchfork

 

Also, I only listen to music that Pitchfork likes.

Started Myst this afternoon.

 

For me Xbox game of the year is forza horizon 5
For ps5 either ratchet and clank riff apart or deathloop.

 

I’ve never played a borderlands game (despite owning the first two) but tiny tinas wonderlands looks delightful. today was the first time I heard about it and it looks awesome
