    Player's Log:

Bloodstained. I'm now in the Oriental Sorcery Lab, where I'll get an item that will allow me to first get the second best ending by having it and not using it, and then if I have it and use it, that will open up the path to the game's final areas and the best ending.

As for achievements, I'm making great progress, but I have a feeling I'm not going to end up 100%ing this. I have 28 out of 45 achievements, and 6 more will be related to the bosses and endings, so I'll get those no problem.

The rest of them have to do with achieving certain collection metrics, and I'm less enthused about that now than I was at the start. The problem is that there are a lot of items in this game that you can't get without crafting, and crafting materials are not easy to come by. Some are in chests that will restock themselves with random items, some are only dropped by enemies. It's a real pain in my ass.

Another achievement is to have a total of 500,000 gold on hand at one time. The max I've had on hand so far is between 2000-2500. Guides I've looked at on the subject indicate using certain shards to increase your luck and money intake, and that's a whole saga I don't have time to deal with.

Love the game, it's really fun and I'm enjoying my time with it, but I don't love it so much that I'm going to waste hours and hours earning these achievements. I'll get what I can and then be satisfied with the result.

I did get the achievement for drinking 1000 liters of the blood of my enemies. Only 18% of Steam users have that so... I'm pretty proud of that.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

I decided to just beat the main story so I can unlock fast travel and go through everything.

I have about two chapters left and then I’ll just go ham on all the side stuff.

The state of play was bad, and it’s ok to say it was bad. It clearly underdelivered, even with Sony setting lower expectations, and I walked away from it with a bitter taste in my mouth. I think it’s more nuanced than the “pissy gamers had unrealistic expectations” tales would suggest.

Sony was doing a really good job of only showing up when they were ready to bring the heat. I think state of plays should be reserved for longer looks at specific games, and whatever we saw yesterday should be blog post only stuff.

The recent State of Plays seem like a response to the criticisms that they don’t support indie developers, which is fine, but it also feel’s lackluster and forced at the same time.

Considering it's just the old games, I'd be so surprised if they fucked it up

The comment by DH is right, but it's a cool game

The game had a ton of hype behind it with Todd McFarlane doing a lot of the artwork and RA Salvatore being the primary writer. It’s an action RPG/Hack n Slash. The sad thing is the studio went bankrupt after the release of the game.

The sad thing wasn't them going bankrupt, it was the horrendous mismanagement at the studio. They were working on a whole universe for that game, multiple entries and I think even an MMO. They were developing so much all at once and just sinking money into projects before the first game had even been released.
