two hours into hollow knight and i am hooked. have died quite a bit but have always been able to go get my corpse back before dying again and losing it all. took out one big boss now i believe im on the second? i only have the heal and blast spells so far. where do i get dash? should i be coming across it pretty soon?

It was a huge leap, the 5 took another big leap in terms if gameplay, or at least the Xbox One/PS4 version did

I have a ton of nostalgia for GTA 4. Not sure if it'd hold up if I went back and played it again now but at the time it was probably one of my all time favorite games. Loved 5 too though


And yes Sleeping Dogs is amazing and I really wish it became a series

 

I think Sleeping Dogs was originally supposed to be in the True Crime series, fun fact lol

 

sleeping dogs was so good and they made collecting everything so fun

I was just remembering earlier that I played it on Xbox 360 when it came out and I was like wait that can’t be right

Was GTA4 the game that IGN back when it was taken more seriously described as having a Godfather-caliber story? It wasn't that good?

This seems like it might be true, but I can't remember tbh. Were video games not generally of similar quality back then (more or less)? The beloved stuff, of course. I mean there's gotta be a reason why remakes are becoming more and more popular, even for stuff that gets criticized for getting remade instead of re-released, no?

 

Wow. Apex removed tap-strafing and PC players are losing their minds saying PC players "made apex what it is" and they're "giving in to casuals". What a bunch of elitist, gatekeeping pricks.

 

Mouse and keyboard Apex is so dumb to me

 

I don't even know what tap-strafing is, that's how much of a gamer I am. Ugh, so much for all my aspirations -_-

 

You don't need to know really. It basically allows for insanely sharp turns so you can dodge or juke someone in a way that they can't counter.

Removing it makes sense for a lot of reasons, not only to make it easier for new players to get into the game, but because it clearly was an unintended feature that physically doesn't make any sense or have any place being in the game. Is it a cool thing to do/use? Absolutely, but that doesn't make it something that logically falls in line with all the other mechanics and goals of the game.

I know people who are like "casuals ruin completive games like Overwatch and Apex. The game balance gets ruined and should be more competitive focused." But that doesn't hold any water because the amount of casual players far surpasses the amount of pro players. Unless they make two modes that have all characters/mechanics act completely different for each mode (which will never happen for time and resources especially), you just have to stop complaining and realize a casual audience will always exist and same for competitive.

The amount of people who get irrationally angry at games making good business decisions and not catering toward their wants is upsetting.

 

A bit jargony tbh, but i think i get what you're saying. Hmmm yeah I can see how that might be upsetting to some fans and why there would be a demand to have it fixed.
