Finished Leon, Chris, and Jake campaigns, all that's left now is Ada. I wish each campaign was four chapters instead of five to economize the story/settings, and that there weren't so many annoying QTE and driving sequences, and that inventory and movement were a little better, but other than that I'm pretty satisfied. The boss fights got a bit repetitive, but at least they were straightforward. I figured out pretty early on that there was more than one Ada. Despite having the most recurring characters in the series, 6 feels the least like 1, but I'm fine with that, I had a lot of fun with it. Will probably share final final thoughts after Ada's campaign.

 

It does sound like an HDMI problem. Has he tried a different TV too? Or a different port at least? If yes it sadly might be the port on the console.

 

My PS5 came! This thing is fucking massive

Played all of Astro's Playroom in one sitting, I know it's been said a million times but that game had no right being as good as it was

We haven’t tried another TV but none of his other devices have that problem on the tv. We asked people on Reddit and apparently it’s a problem with the GPU. He’s just going to pay Sony to fix it. We’re not going to try anything that would involve taking apart the console lol

 

Miles is good. I haven’t beaten it but I’ve played it for about an hour. The city looks great in 4K

 

So almost a grand altogether for a scalped PS5? That’s a legit shitty deal

 

Yeah it’s not the best situation but it’s either that or having a $700 PS5 with a messed up GPU

If you’re selling something that’s desired at a markup, you’re def scalping. It’s not like it’s an antique or an heirloom.

Survival horror or not, Ada zipping through China is the coolest thing in the entire series.

Ada's campaign had a few confusing/annoying moments here and there, and Carla goo ship was particularly gross, but overall it's probably my favorite campaign, if only because none of it felt unnecessary.

Overall I admire the game's ambition, with so many overlapping storylines, but having to defeat the same boss multiple times in the same campaign, and then having to do it again in another, gets pretty repetitive. And, as i said before, I don't like the overuse of QTE, driving, and I guess platforming. A lot of the time I just really missed how smooth Tomb Raider 2013 is in comparison.

So... Not my favorite entry in the franchise, but certainly not terrible like everyone says

 

I think I might do Revelations 1-2 next, if only because RE7 seems like the only one that's gonna scare the shit outta me.

 

Yeah I played through 7 when it came out and haven't been back to it because of the creepy factor. I know I have to play the new one but it's not going to be easy.

 

the first act of 7 is the spookiest and then it opens up a bit and loses some of the tension, if that helps psych anyone up

RE7 might be my favorite of the franchise. Finding your way through the house is so fun.

 

7 has one of the best first acts in horror gaming period. After that though, it’s goes from alright to “Is this over yet?” pretty quick. The whole wannabe SAW segment with the annoying son honked and I was so glad when it was over.

 

I need to pick those two up.

I’d def go play those, both are great imo and the second has Claire and Barry so I especially loved that.

 

Comms Officer boss was a pain in the ass until I looked it up and found that the rifle was available at that point, then it was a breeze. I ran out of handgun and shotgun ammo twice trying to kill him for like half an hour, then when I got the rifle it took like two minutes. ughhh
