Well, we have a quasi mandatory military service (small peaceful country historically surrounded by big, war-friendly countries, I guess) and people used to keep their gun after basic training (no ammo though) because you’re technically a reservist, but now hardly anyone keeps it cause you have to pay now (in the past it was free). We don’t really have a gun control problem though if that’s what you’re asking lol
